How in the hell has anyone beat him? He was the second boss for my group when we tried PoE 32 last night, and it seemed like every time we took his shield down, he regened it to a different damage type. And then all the other cabal seemed to just keep spawning at a ridiculous rate and had so much health... Anyone have advice on how to beat him?
Apparently the Gjallarhorn is a must have for this...

I did it last nite with just my Defender Titan and one other person, a Voidwalker..took a little longer, but as long as you focus the mobs down and then unleash hell on Tau'urg, rinse and repeat, it s totally doable.

Ghorns my fellow gaurdian we dropped him quick

I two-manned it with a friend. It took us a while but we just spread out from each other, moved alot. He took down shields and I would hit Valus with ice breaker or rockets. Have a G-horn but didn't use it the whole time. Get a safe spot and switch weapons often. Tough fight for sure.

Best tactics: Titan with weapons of light + 3 Gjallarhorn (365 version) and he is down in about 10 seconds (directly after start) one of the easiest bosses^^

3 RepliesHe's easy all you need is coordination.

Edited by Fresh Suggs: 5/21/2015 8:38:58 PMDon't need Ghorn for this fight. Every time his shield changes more adds spawn. Kill all the trash mobs, take out majors immediately, and then take out his shield when it's clear. If you keep making him change shields more and more adds will spawn on you. You're welcome.

We would just split up and kill the basic monsters while one distracted boss. Then focus on him all together once everything else was dead. There was a lot t of running but it worked out. Plus we got lucky and he had solar shield 3 times in a row so my gally messed him up. But I also had the only gally.

No Ghorn? It must be difficult, son.

2 manned it, only used ghorn for first 7 shots. ran out of synth on accident. finished it tho no problem with a 33 and 32
-
2 Replies3 Gjallarhorns with full ammo before fight. Unload everything, whole fireteam uses synth. Unload again. Can finish this fight in a minute if you do this and ignored adds.

We beat him first try, but it was intense. We had 2 titans and alternated bubbles, made sure to have weapons of different burns to get his shields down, and made sure to gjally him once they dropped. He's pretty squishy without his shields.

Don't need gallu . it is hard thou.

Two manned that dude last night with hunters not that hard it's everyone else that bugs just weed them out and you have space to move freely he was are round 5 boss btw
-
Pretty annoying boss tbf but aslong as you continuously move it works, well it did for my team as we were all hunters

1 ReplyMy team didn't have ghorns. What we did was we started at the back left corner of the map, killed ads, and if too many of them got near us we would rotate diagonally to the other side of the map. We also found that leaving one ad alive along with valus makes the respawn times for the other ads much, much longer. Hope this helped

2 RepliesJust have one of every type equipped. Not rocket surgery.
-
We had 2 sunsingers and a defender Titan. All of us had Gally. I fired 2 rockets, threw 2 fusion nades, reload and fire 2 more rockets and he was pretty much done.
-
Run around in circles and shoot rockets whenever possible and be coordinated with ur fireteam
-
1 Replyyou don't need Ghorn, just need to take cover, communicate, and teamshoot. :)

We had no g-horns and managed. It was actually my Truth that was clutch. Any time he had a void shield I dumped rockets into him. Two takes down shield, third in the tube does damage. Usually had time for a reload and two more rockets before his shield came back up. I just called out when the shield was going down and the other guys put a few shots in as well. We did similar for other shield types, one guy works it down, calls it out and everyone fires away for ten seconds or so. The only thing I would do differently is use a solar shotty. Unfortunately I don't have a good one. That with VoC and the element you are assigned makes a very solid load out.

I noticed if you continue to damage him when his shields are down it takes longer for him to recalibrate them or it could have just been a glitch

1 ReplyMy team did it with one person killing adds and the other 2 hitting valus
