The higher the power, the stronger you should feel. Not even including the state of the game, sometimes, I just want to help some of my friends on their new characters to blow through their missions. My 1030 characters should really be able to one shot everything at a 750 difficulty, which is the minimum. A whole 300 power difference should mean i could kill a spider tank with a hand cannon, let alone a boss. When the whisper and outbreak missions were "bugged", that was probably the most powerful that I've felt, and it was great. That's growing fat with strength. Anyone else share my thoughts?

Why do y'all want to steamroll everything? That will get boring REAL fast.
-
That's MMO territory, and we all know Bungie doesn't like to consider this game an MM.....oh, they do...nevermind.

Изменено (The Hermit IX): 5/26/2020 7:57:43 PMOh how we long for the days of Forsaken. That’s when we were powerful and the game was a lot of fun. Nothing like great content mixed with great weapons and abilities. Goes a long way.
-
I can certainly agree we should feel more powerful then what we do (maybe we should take more damage) but one shotting everything would get old real quick! I do think in the older content we should be able to tank like 50% more damage and shoot deal about the same more as well
-
I get you. Perhaps may we phrase it as a question? Why do monsters have a fixed time to kill that doesn't seem to change, regardless of light or gear level?
-
I legit was loving helping my friends through their Outbreak catalyst when it was bugged. But because too many people take this game way too seriously, you can’t have fun in this game. Sometimes, you just want to get home from work, shoot some aliens in the face, feel like a god doing it, and have a blast. But nope. Can’t have fun in this game. No sir. yOu hAvE tO eArN iT!

What, you don't love how a 20 power Dreg in the EDZ can actually hurt you when you're 1000 levels above? Seems normal to me... Oh wait, it's not. Honestly can't think of any other game that does this. Usually at that point, enemy damage would be reduced to 1 or 2. Some games even make it 0.

Изменено (Gunship): 5/24/2020 6:57:20 PMHell yes! I agree. Sadly the opposite is true the higher light we get, the LESS powerful we are. The other day I was trying to solo legendary Rasputin Bunker on the moon at 1015 light, and no amount of effort, no weapon, no buff could TOUCH the two champions. All I could do is drop them 15-25% at most before they regenerated completely. I tried for and hour to kill those two AFTER killing the boss. It was impossible. Even knocked one off a cliff and it was back on me undamaged in 2 seconds. That is not fun. That is also not challenging. That is simply undoable. I have brought this up many times, Bungie knows and does not care.

Изменено (FdYAcsoyPKN83gLE): 5/25/2020 12:44:29 PMPower means nothing.

Yeah this game really sucks
-
Sounds like a you problem.
-
Then stop playing d2 and revisit Destiny.
-
100% agree. Whisper & Zero Hour we so insanely fun while "bugged". I went back in just because it was so fun! Wish that was more common on video games. I mean WOW! It really felt like a human-killing force waging a battle against a para-causal human evolved purely FOR WAR! Everything was turned up to 11
-
Yet here we are getting equipment sunsetting as an excuse of power creep which does not even exist.
-
Nah. Ima disagree there. System is fine where it’s at. Though guns themselves should be good because of perks.
-
Don’t worry, I’m sure they can add an easy mode just for you.
-
Fun is no longer Bungie's priority. If you want to feel powerful, you should play Doom 2016 or Eternal or God of War, they are all great games.
-
I have been waiting to feel powerful for a long time. Weapons become weaker. Enemies become stronger. The two combined or just one on their own means we get less powerful, bit by bit. I’m at 999 but it makes zero difference so far as I can see from being 800 as the red bars seem a tad more tanky and my weapons feel a bit more powder puff...and my supers aren’t super. I don’t want to one shot things but I would like to feel a bit of oomph when I play, a bit of power behind my actions.

To feel powerful, I played The Outer Worlds; 2 hours in I started one shotting everything on Monarch, feels good -
Bungie: You got it Guardians! Enjoy Shank Burn on this Rocket Launcher! *does extra damage to fallen shanks Yes this was an actual thing once upon a time.
-
The power delta is 50. You being 300 above the enemy level means nothing. To the game you are only 50 above.
-
Yeah, it trivializes all the content and gets boring.
