A lot of people out here get killed in the Crucible and, upon seeing a Raid weapon's name pop up in the top right portion of their screen appear after 5+ deaths, they log on to bungie.net to begin calling for a nerf to this weapon. Here's why this shouldn't be happening:
1.) Well, if you're dying that much to the same weapon, you're probably not very good at adapting your tactics when engaging an enemy with said weapon. Getting better at the game is the best solution to your problems.
2.) It is a Raid weapon. People do the Raid as often as they possibly can to get one weapon, and want to be satisfied with the result. People who scream for nerfs to Raid weapons clearly haven't done the Raid that said weapon is from, and clearly don't understand that the person who actually plays the game to its full extent is obviously going to have an advantage over them in some way.
3.) Nerfing weapons rarely does any good in Destiny. When Vex Mythoclast got nerfed, doing the Vault of Glass on Hard essentially became pointless. Also, it results in a large amount of people pestering Bungie for a buff afterwards, and the whole situation becomes a nightmare for the people trying to have a good time and the people who work to make this game more enjoyable for all of us.
And Bungie, if you're reading this, you should heed my advice and not nerf any Raid weapons, no matter how much people argue. Like I said, nothing good can come out it.
4 Replies1. Just no. The crucible unfortunately isn't about adaptability nor skill so this isn't a very good suggestion. 2. Just because some people choose not to do the raid for whatever reason they might have, doesn't mean they should be punished in the crucible. All weapons of a given type should be equal on a damage basis. The only difference between say the Vanquisher and Suros should in fact be the perks on the guns. 3. There are ways to nerf guns without affecting them in PVE. For example, weapon A is too powerful in PVP because of a perk. So in order to balance it, you nerf the perk and increase its attack power (because AP is not considered in crucible)

2 RepliesNever had an issue with any raid weapon other than the occasional SG. Mythoclast isn't useless. My friends wreck with it. (I can't, I hate the thing in crucible). In PvE it is pretty beast though And raid weapons are common spread so that's why people target them on the forums.
