Twas the night before Crota, and all through the hall, Not a creature was stirring, not even a thrall. The Tower was full of guardians who waited with care, In hope that Eris Morn would soon be there. They lurked in the forums and posted in threads, While visions of necrochasm danced in their heads. Then the download came, slower than feared And then they knew the final countdown was drawing near. Soon morning came, and dawn broke the night Indeed the guardians would soon begin their new fight. They rushed to their vaults and grabbed their Gjallarhorns, Doubtful their loot would be better from Eris Morn. The Gunsmith's ammo packs ran out fast, He must have known this attention would not last. Fireteams were assembled, with members from far and wide And they all exclaimed "no longer will Crota hide!" Into orbit they went, all giddy with excitement, So off the moon, all their jumpships went. Approaching the Hellmouth, they did not know What they would find, down in the Dark Below, Into rooms of wizards and of thrall galore, They fought their way through until they could fight no more. Not long after they found Oryx's son, And surely they realized it was too late to run. Their fate had been sealed, they stood at the ready, With gazes towards the knight, they remained steady. The god summoned his minions, and unleashed their fury But the guardians held their ground, though their vision went blurry. Crota took many forms, trying all of his tricks, He could handle one Guardian, but not all six. At last one warrior retrieved Crota's sword, And cut through the final waves of his horde. The Guardian approached the Knight, now on his knee, And said, "This is the end, and I'm the last that you will see". With their mission done, and loot in hand They returned to Eris, her grin was grand. "You did what we could not, I and the other five" "You have destroyed a god, and crippled the Hive" EDIT: Let's get this trending Guardians! And let's get pumped for The Dark Below!
