Okay fellas it's pretty simple, we want two flags... not 3

Please, ALL OF YOU, Stop trying to capture all 3 flags if you're not in a fireteam of 6. When I'm with my Fireteam, we can capture all 3 flags and earn a crapton of XP (about 325 per kill) because of domination. Now even though that's a nice thing to aim for ... [b]IT'S NOT THE GOAL [/b] The goal is control. COntrol means to control the enemy team. Keeping them on their one flag. We get too close, we don't control. Whenever I go solo I see all of you, ALL OF YOU, go for the third flag like it's the holyland. Please, unless you and your friends are coordinated and playing together, don't go for the third flag. Please. Seriously, PLEASE. In fact if you guys want a tip for solo , chill back at the furthest flag, theres always someone trying to sneak around to take it. Steady points.

  • First of all, if you want to play control a specific way, then you need to be playing with a full fireteam, because there is no way to control the masses of random teammates. Second of all, this strategy you are talking about seems like more of a preference and not something that actually makes sense. If I infiltrate their flag and there is no one around, then I am going to take that flag. If they are not there, that means that have likely started spawning at our flag, so it would be counter productive to run away from their flag without taking it while I had the chance.

    • People need to learn that having A on delphi is more important than anything. A will always have better access to B and won't have to go through that stupid gauntlet window to get to B from C.

      • No, I must hold all three!!! Lol, seriously though, this is sound advice. You see a ton of people running into B and getting mowed down when in most scenarios A or C is always left open.

      • I don't think thinks standard control/domination though. From what I can tell by the scoring, you get points for capping, but they don't continue to give points the longer you hold them (think cod or bf). the game still revolves around killing and you still have to kill in order to score points. Although info agree that in any of these type games you want 2 and only 2 so the enemy's spawn is predictable.

      • Blind Watch is the worst when people do this. 90% of the time whoever controls C and B will win, but 1 or 2 guys always go capture a and force a spawn switch.

        Thank God someone said this. But it's even more than that -- winning is about controlling two SPECIFIC flags. The basic premise is: capture and defend B. It's the zone you must have to win. But here's how the maps work . . . Blind Watch -- you have to have B and C. Alpha team's side is garbage. Don't even try to take A. Shores of Time -- B and C. You can cover B from C with a sniper. A is way out of the way and impossible to defend. Let them have it. Firebase Delphi -- A and B. If you can get B, it should take care of itself with huge firefights in the middle. Rusted Lands -- A and B. They're right next to each other. They're so easy to cover. Twilight Gap -- A and B. C is alright, but it's harder to defend than A. C is closer to heavy ammo, and A's is a little out of the way, but it's hard getting into B from C without getting slaughtered. Bastion and First Light -- B is crucial, but the vehicles skew this map. They both suck ("You just suck" comments = "I love the vehicles. My combined arms K/D is so good!").

          Please for the love of G** please stop running to zone B in Firebase Delphi if the enemy has two or more zones already! I cannot count how many times I have been on teams where the majority of my teammates are trying to capture B when the opposing team has zones A and C. Although it sounds like I am telling you what to do, that is not the case. My concern is that people get too wrapped up in fighting they give the opponent the upper hand by distracting the team from the true objective.

          Control is pretty much domination people always go for the 3 cap when they should just keep 2

        • destiny and cod. whenever i play domination type game, i defend. usually i can handle it but when i see my idiot team mates try capture the 3rd point, the second one already in enemy cap progress. making it shifting spawn, which ends up enemy spawning near me

        • Fair points. I think the game is won depending on how you control both of your flags. Really, once you own two, it's a matter of controlling your lines of sight and letting the enemy spill into your kill zones. I do love Control in Destiny, it's crazy good fun.

          • You'd think everyone would understand this by now. I can't count how many games have turned sour because the rest of the people I'm playing with decided to run around like chickens with their head cut off instead of CONTROLing the points we already have. So much sigh

          • This thread made my day! Basically there are two types of Players arguing in here! One side is showing the most effective method when playing with a normal, not superior team. The other Side tells them to just let them play the way they want to. It is like the young Brother Telling the older Brother to piss of! bungie could provide a solution! The players who want to play tactical Could go for Control. The Players who just want to Play a fps for its main purpose, shooting enemies, Could Play TDM. But the guys at the bungie hq are probably as amused as I am Right now so they just let everything like it is, meaning the TDM Players have to go to Play control in Order to rank up their IB. I doubt the Control guys can convince the TDM players, but good luck! :D

            • While we're at it. Point A on shores of time is awful. Get point C and never give it up at any cost. Spawning at c on that map gives huge advantage.

              • I generally agree but a well timed third and a couple of mins capped time does wonders for your score, however capping third before the halfway point will often hamstring you and you end up loosing everything, which happens all too often and is stupid.

              • a lot of people took this the wrong way, but truth be told if you want to win the game and gain rep, going for 2 flags and holding them is in most cases a far better tactic then trying to go for 3 and spread yourselves out.

              • Correct, but some people just wanna have fun too. Going for the third isn't great if you wanna win but after all people will play THEIR GAME how THEY WANT TO, you will never change that. If you wanna win so bad join a clan.

              • Agreed you should only go after the third flag if you know whithout a doubt that you can secure it without losing control right after or if you need to trade objectives since your other flag is being taken.
