Should grenades be able to damage and kill you?
Many times I have thrown a Tripmine grenade for it to blow up in my face if I'm too close to an enemy or for an enemy to shoot it then kill me. Just now I was doing the Nexus strike mission for my exotic bounty. I threw a Tripmine at the nexus boss thing, he shot it and I died. I was also doing the complete a strike without dying and get 9000 experience without dying (only about 1000 experience left) so I had do that all over again. Its a total balls ache and I think that grenades shouldn't be able to kill you in PvE because of charging enemies.
[b]UPDATE:[/b] they at least shouldnt be able to kill you. Maybe damage you quite a bit so that your vilnerable but not kill. And I don't mean the enemy is infront of me then I throw it, I mean when enemies are far away then they start charging/suddenly teleport infront of me....

It’s nonsense on Solar Singe Grenadier or on Solar Burn Catapult would ever 1 shot you. Bungie needs to make that change.

1 ReplyI don't use tripmines in PvE anymore for this reason. The splash damage in the Nexus has shot a grenade in my face several times.

3 RepliesI clicked thinking this would be some troll attempt. But alas OP is just salty. Of course they should damage you. I understand being mad about getting boned by the AI, it's happened to all of us at some point. Also props to the OP for actually doing his strikes and not AFKing the bounty .

First of all it is a GRENADE. Second of all that is what grenades do they KILL things. Do you think it cares what?

grenades function like in halo. Stickies generally kill you and the others are to soften up or inflict heavy damage for 1-2 shot kill. AoE grenades definitely shouldn't kill. That's super level OP. Sticky grenades do kill, flux grenades kill on a sticky and magnetic grenades kill if the target doesn't move much.

1 ReplyWhen I first started using the tripmine this happened often but then I adjusted. It wasn't that hard and it would make no sense if your own grenade couldn't damage/kill you.

I can't say I've died from my own grenade. But I've definitely died from rocketing a vex only to have them teleport right in my face

1 ReplyHere's how it is: Titan flash, lightning and magnetic grenades can kill you Warlock fusion grenades can kill you Hunter trip mines and flux grenades can kill you. Honestly, the number of times I've died from my lightning grenade is absurd. One screw up on the throw, and bam! 20 foot lightning bolt to the face. Still, that's how it's supposed to be. If it can't kill you, how can it kill the Darkness?

Seems hunters are the main ones just get screwed over by this. I'll admit I've almost ran into one of mine going off as a Titan but i kinda remember most of the time and back off. I guess you guys just have to lock off that area and just not go there lol. I know a lot of stuff is going on but wouldn't you remember where you placed it?

Lol was doing daily strike on hard lvl 28 miss threw my grenade which is trip mine needless to say I stepped In it and the flying commenced was pretty damn funny.

I hate when it happens too but it's completely understandable. I wish they made a "hardcore" pvp mode friendly fire on and no radar. that would be fun but might promote cod camping
