What is the best way to get Ascendant Shards?
My brother and I play and play and play, but have the hardest time receiving ascendant shards... I know you can't just farm them like materials. We do the daily and weekly and I might luckily receive one. I'm slowly getting bored because I'm just stuck at level 27(him and I both.) I can upgrade my armor, only if I had those dang shards! Then, I could raid with a little more ease or attempt the hard mode.
Any Ideas on how to get ascendant shards?

1 ReplyThis is what I do. 1. I dont wear faction item 2. get all crucible marks and vanguard marks for the week - use those marks to buy legendary armor - dismantle the items and you get two to three each. 3. complete normal VoG for the week - you get a lot depending on luck - you get like 6 on bad luck 4. weekly nightfall - again depending on luck 5. tiger strikes over and over until you fill your inventory full of blues - maye you get a legendary from those blues from decoding - if you do get legendary, dismantle. 6. Public event Gold Tier -one for each day -depends on luck(sometimes you get energy) p.s. legendary weapons give ascendant energy not shards. thats all I know.

Hey. Remember to spend those vanguard marks! They don't go over two hundred so get em spent. Always play your daily on hardest setting, do at least one public event each day. Don't save gear, stick with what you like (one item per armour, and a legendary to cover the exotic you may have) and only have enough weapons to cover you for different shielded enemies. Have a routine on what you'll do each day and do it, they'll soon mount up. If you haven't got time for multiple characters this should help. Good luck... GUARDIAN!

Farm public events. You will get shards or energy on odd numbered events, usually, so like even 1 you get the mail, then event 3,5,7,9 of the day you are likely to get shards too. Daily strike will get you two. Buy a piece of raid gear every once in a while.

Use destinypublicevents.com to farm public events. Ur first of the day gives u ascendant mats and every gold star u complete has a chance to give you some more.

Vault of Glass. You most likely will not get armor or weapons, but you can bank on getting shards and energy

Complete the vault of glass. You'll get plenty in there. Also nightfall. Public events. Chests. Not as hard as you think I have a lvl 29 warlock, lvl27 hunter and titan soon to be lvl 28's

Every day I play I start by doing a couple public events. This gets me 1 or 2.....also build up your marks to 65 and buy legendary armor then dismantle it for a few shards

Just do Raids. I got over 30 shards on my main!! My problem now is getting raid gear to apply it to.

4 RepliesHeroic daily mission at level 28, the raid, public events and dismantling legendary or better gear. Just keep grinding and you'll get there sooner than you think

There is a chance of getting 2 if you do the daily on lvl 28. Do strikes get vanguard marks. Buy vanguard armor and dismantle for shards. Do the Raid on normal for more shards.
