I'm really not trolling here. Only two organizations really seem to care about it anymore. The Supreme Court claims to uphold it, and the ACLU. Scarcely a day goes by without some right winger trying to break the 1st Amendment by bringing prayer in schools, or the 10 commandments in courthouses, or some left winger trying to break the 2nd Amendment by trying to ban some firearm they don't understand.
The sad fact is that the only thing anyone seems to agree on is that the US Constitution is something that can be superseded by strong belief.

3 RepliesGreat song.

It needs updating, but there are quite a few good parts to it. People also need to be more strict when it comes to upholding it's values.
-
It needs to be reformed, not been done away with. But admitedly I don't know much about it. I only did a single semester on politics and we only touched upon the American system for a few weeks

6 RepliesIts funny. This thread isn't bait. There is a legit conversation that needs to happen here. People really do think you can pick and choose what bits of the Constitution to abide by. It happens even here. When we have American members saying there is an acceptable gun control method, or when the more religious members want to teach evolution or pray in school, we are disregarding the document we claim to hold dear. I say, we either live by it or we don't. Half assing it just prolongs the agony of indecision. We aren't a unified people. So, go right ahead and call this bait. Call me a troll. By denying this conversation, you are part of the problem.

It needs to be updated, not destroyed. There's some good shit in there.
-
I've been claiming that the document is outdated for years. The political process in the United States was never designed for these titanic political machines to face off mono e mono, it was designed for every person in the system to be independent, and chosen based off of their willingness to listen to the citizens.

I'm really not trolling here.
That's become a dead giveaway that you're trolling.

4 RepliesSo because there are people trying to undermine the law, we should eliminate it?
-
Maybe an update is in order.

1 ReplyIt's just charlie being charlie guys

no. constituition= having rights having rights = a good thing. i dont see a problem with a very small tweak to it, but getting rid of it is a very bad idea.
-
It was originally suppoosed to be revised every 19 years, or else it would not be in the best interest of the people and the government
-
7 RepliesI would say we should revise it, not do away with it. It is quite outdated.
-
6 RepliesIt's a bunch of laws written in the 1700's(?) when people were still going hunting to eat.
-
Charlie post Nothing to see here
-
Let's give the right wingers their way 100%. See how long it takes to develop into full blown fascism, like the Supreme Court already has.
-
Which is exactly why we should hold to it for as long as it will float.
-
And you rather let them have their way?
-
You'd have to restructure your entire government.
-
It should be updated every 20 years.
-
3 Replies>We should ban the most important document in our Nation's history because people will try to disobey it. Charlie pls.

Get rid of? No. Update it? Yes.
