Guys, that's honestly the best you're going to get out of the Catholic church. Anyone who thinks one of the most strict religious institution in the world is going to turn their backs on a five thousand year old teaching overnight is incredibly naiive.
Honestly, this new pope seems to be a humble man of the people. He lives in a small apartment in Buenos Aires and denied the private Archbishop car, taking a bus to work. I'm looking forward to see what he does with social welfare
"men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies must be accepted with respect and compassion." -Pope Francis
I saw that quote in his Wikipedia article, immediately preceding a mention that he believes that he believes same-sex marriage is demonic in nature. Honestly, that's all I want. As long as roughly 1/2 of Christians are no longer walking down Gays-are-the-spawn-of-Satan Lane, I'm happy.
