Now they're releasing each act on day 1, people will have nothing to do for 6 weeks. They've absolutely terrified of players only logging in 3 days out of every 4 months.
Every metric & every activity has fallen thru the floor & without the weekly story to get people logging in there's gonna be very little reason to hit start.

1 ReplyJokes on them because I just won’t log in at all.
-
Why grind power when there is no positive curve to pay out the effort? Bungie are a bunch of chickens with no head
-
Because....they know a lot of player will log every week in order to reach the most useless goal in destiny 2...reaching the piinacle cap. Like...for WHAT ? Without the pinnacle cap + the artifact lvl you are ALWAYS over the requiered light lvl for every activity in the game. And for the very few activities with a higher light lvl.. Well....you are capped. So why in the world is there still people chasing this pinnacle cap ? And why people care avout bungie increasing it...its optionnal after all.

2 RepliesOf course they are afraid. I won't be grinding pinnacles this time. I'll play the story, grab what weapons I want, run whatever exotic quest there is and then go play games in my backlog that I really enjoy.
-
From what it sounds like, people are saying that the lack of a weekly story is one of the main reasons the game won't keep as many players logging in every day as it used to. Guess everyone's going to get to see.

Edited by Dooodley: 9/23/2024 4:21:30 PMI can't really blame them for that because there was a lot of complaints about them not releasing everything at the same time in the past. They do make some weird choices though. Like, what did they expect to happen these three remaining weeks of the season? Instead of at least adding challenges - so that there would be some wiggle room for everyone to get the big pile of bright dust - they choose to do nothing. Actually, that's not true, I'm 100 % sure that they threw in Gally so that people would log on. Regardless, it's missed opportunity after missed opportunity. And when they have the option of organically milking grinds a bit they throw in some raid/dungeon challenge - resulting in that people just mindlessly burn through content as quickly as possible. Oh and don't get me started on trophies and whatnot, instead of making them reasonable to complete they usually make it so that we have to complete everything - resulting in that there's no point in caring at all for a lot of players, which leads to less overall activity. So no long term goals and the short term goals - such as better gear - is rendered moot by level bolstering.

4 RepliesThey've shot themselves in the foot on this one though - they're launching a dungeon in contest mode on day one and very few people will be playing that, or indeed any of the Pinnacle level stuff so will instead concentrate on the weekly story and activities (because they'll need to regrind XP power before hitting the Pinnacle grind). That still means people are going to burn out quickly and aren't going to run activities they didn't want to do last episode just to stand still in this one. It's going to have the exact opposite effect than what they're aiming for because it's not bringing new players in to replace the ones they're losing (any new players coming in will blitz through levels 1900-1950 before they know it, struggle from 1950-2000 and hit a brick wall at 2000-2010 and probably all within the same week). This setup is almost designed to reduce the amount of play time people put into the game rather than what it actually needs to do.
-
The only thing that makes sense is that they're adding it back in an attempt to save money on server costs.
-
3 RepliesHonestly I thinks it’s directly related to the Dungeon having a contest mode to start. The players that asked first them to bring it back opened the for the change.

Edited by nonchalantone: 9/23/2024 3:02:45 AMSame reason they ration out "300" Bright Dust every weekly reset. Just to get you to log in. They knew they were wrong with the whole Pathfinder crap. It's not like they INTENDED to skim BD to use it to their advantage later .... Or DID they ... 🤔 (Excuse me, my tin foil hat just fell off)...lol

Then they should make better content but that's been a dead horse for years the only reason I enjoyed this game bk in the day was friends but noone plays anymore I like how stuff plays but the constant feeling week in simple activities and such is a bore
-
1 ReplyIf the story content is similar to this episode, playing through each act in one go is going to be painful. Imagine doing it for Act 3 of this episode.
-
1 Replythey brought it back as artificial content in order to make people play the game longer so sony doesn't permanently shut down the studio for costing them money and giving them no profits
-
Edited by lonewolf-qc: 9/23/2024 2:30:30 AMThat's exactly what's happening. Was thinking the same thing. People will be done within the story the first week of each act and i'm being generous. So they needed something to keep people occupied for the rest of the episode, so 10 power level to grind especially with the pinnacle rng drop this season being not so good, might take some time for some people. They shoud really try to create content instead of making people grind for power level.
-
2 RepliesThey should release more content then, I'm playing Once Human almost every day for nearly a month and I'm not done with everything in the game because there's so much to do
-
yup that is why they are bringing leveling back, but they could have told us that 3 or 4 months ago before I upgraded a bunch of things thinking that level was staying at 2000 for the year.
-
1 Replyis not like a 10 power level grind will make player play longer eh, next season we will have a massive number of pinnacle drops,3 raids,3 dungeon, challanges etc etc
-
3 RepliesLast I checked, it's not releasing each act day 1, it's release all 3 parts of an act when it comes out, then a pause before the next act and all of it's parts come out.
