First time attempting it, whole team got annihilated before we even cleared the first group of enemies between us and the plates. I mean, yeah we were all (after the power leader boost) at like 2010, but damn. Can't imagine how hard it was for the first people to do it weeks ago.
Yeah... I think I'll hold off on trying to get the Ergo Sum catalyst until either I'm at the power cap (Bungie, ffs, remove these or the level system entirely) or they open up more ways to get this. As good as the sword can be, I don't think an upgrade to an RNG exotic is worth that much trouble when we can craft or reliably (sometimes more easily) farm other weapons ES would have good uses for or would be less costly to use.

Edited by Shockwave 989: 7/21/2024 10:39:17 AMSome tips: Try to rush the rally flag off spawn. Stun the champs, rally up and get to work. Do each side as a group one by one. The order my team did on our two clears was left, right, middle. Kill enemies and push up, things won’t be easy but you need to try and get to those plates. If you really need to, an invis hunter can just capture it solo. Inside the Witness fight you want to destroy hands and keep an eye out for overload Minotaurs that will rush you. Tormentors need to be focused once they go rage mode. Having a Divinity makes both of those previous points infinitely easier. Don’t worry too much about damage in phase 1 and 2. Phase 3 is infinite so you can keep hopping down to restock ammo and if you need revives a barrier champion spawns on either side you can farm.

Edited by THE GRIND IS REAL: 7/21/2024 4:54:44 AMWell on the bungie vidoc I don't remember them saying they want players to have fun and enjoy the game I'm pretty sure it was we want players to scream and shout at there screen (frustrated) guess this is how you kill a franchise make changes to keep a handful of players happy like the difficulty increase and loose a million more players in the process

Only difficulty is the immense lag caused by the 12 players.

2 RepliesWorst part is, one of the 12 players can ruin the entire thing by dying over and over again. Another great idea from Bungie.

1 ReplyBeing at the power cap won't matter too much, just as a heads up. The gm excision has contest mode on if I remember right. The best way I've seen to do it is having most people using outbreak, then having at least 1 other champion weapon on. Just keep in mind that once you complete the first area, you don't get supers anymore, so hanging back towards the door and clearing enemies from a distance other than the overloads, which will always push.
-
6 RepliesJust spamm wells with 7-9 Warlocks and have 2 banner shield titans block any damage. This makes it a lot easier.
-
3 RepliesIt's not hard. Just a laggy encounter start to end. Easy with LFG Discord without voice. Next to Impossible with ingame Finder xD
-
1 ReplyGot it done first go, lfg. Focus on staying alive and don't rezz players that constantly die.
-
19 RepliesThe Pale Heart seal is probably going to be one of the least earned DLC seals. You have to find 11 people that know exactly what they're doing. There's only one type of player with friends lists like that.
-
3 RepliesMost of the difficulty comes from the engine not being able to handle this much. I had no scopes (weapons didn't load or had loaded to then lose this status) and both enemies and teammates teleported all over the place. Enemy healthbars are not at all reliable - sometimes enemies die when it shows 90%, sometimes they rubberband back up. The remainder of the difficulty is one or two players pulling almost all of the revive tokens (thinking they are sole heroes, trying to solo everything) - iE having to coordinate on who to revive in the later stages.

4 RepliesWhat's brutal is the amount of visual bugs and the amount of frames you lose.

Hence the name “GrandMaster Excision”

3 RepliesDude the whole point is the grind to get to power. I’d hate to have a brand new guy showing up to an end game event. Just to show up because he hasn’t taken the time to learn the game mechanics. If you know the game mechanic's. Getting to power is so damn easy now. Don’t even need to run three characters, I’m using two with ease playing holidays and weekends. And wanting to nerf something cause you can’t get it, gtfo here. Prolly the reason yall can’t get good

Edited by R-E-D-C-E-L-L: 7/19/2024 7:26:29 PMWasn't that difficult honestly. Few simple things our group of randoms with no mic did. Soon as you start, kill vandal snipers they just one shot for free kills. Do so immediately in the second phase also and keep an eye out for when they reappear. Just getting them out of the way immediately will save your team a whole lot of revives. Warlocks set wells not too close and somewhere cover can be gotten to for everyone. Prioritize champions and build to melt them because they're your lifeline so you don't run out of revives. Be wary of those rifts that appear and can one shot you. During damage phase, stop every few seconds to look at the ground to see where the path of the witness's attack will hit and side step them. Before jumping back up to the platform after dying, do not rush, wait for another witness attack, then when it's clear, hop back up. Give tormentors a very wide berth and damage from afar while kiting and being aware of your surroundings.

It's an absolute -blam!- show 😆
-
I don't know how many people you had but 6 was fantastic. Enemies and players weren't teleporting along with damage being registered. Overall we did it in like 25-30 mins. My advice sometimes less is more and way more enjoyable for sure. GL!!!

3 RepliesI do help!! Feel free to get in touch.
-
What is the power cap for that?
-
6 RepliesIt’s not difficult at all. Totally depends on the fireteam you get. Just stay together and team shoot everything. Start from right and clear right plate first then it gets easy.
-
It’s the frame rate. Think 4 were disconnected/quit in the end. Just gotta farm tokens between phases and it’ll sort out
-
That’s the point. The first room demands teamwork especially under leveled. Push to one side AS A TEAM and take out the champions. The second room is easy if you lock down a prismatic pool. I was farming champions non stop on right side by myself while my teammates took out left side tormentor Champions and bosses gives a revive token.

7 RepliesHopefully they nerf it and make it more accessible…. But then again the sword is terrible the catalyst doesn’t really save it

It was a one and done for me. It was obvious the game couldn’t handle 12 people. Frame rates were awful, abilities, and weapon hits not registering. And then at the end only one or two of us could use the super through ghost to damage the witness.
