Why is Trails the way that it is?
I love trails and love Pvp in this game but I've slowly began to hate it more and more because off the horrible matchmaking. I can look at the roster(for solo and 2 stack) and know who Ima get on my team just on their loadout. I've always been getting the less good players on my team and their team gets the stack people. For the past 5 games this week all my teammates have had below a 0.5 and some games have a 0.0. Please fix this, it's making trails worse and worse and driving good players away because they gonna get tired off having to carry someone in a game every single game. Please fix it.
I understand you want to give everyone a chance at getting flawless but this is end game content. If you're not good to get there then you don't deserve the loot that comes from it. Back in foresaken when you saw someone with Not Forgotten you almost pooped your pants because it was a hard thing to get for well over 90% off the population. I see someone with an adept It just comes off as a regular gun with no value behind it.
The solo and double que lobbies. I understand you want to give people who can't find 2 other people to play trails a chance but in turns has ruined trails forever. It goes back to the matchmaking part too, I can't choose who I wanna play with, I can't make my flawless easier I have to handicap myself. Please change trails back to the way it was, go back to having to have 3 stack. It was so much better for the game then what ya'll have now.

6 RepliesI gave up on pvp for this game . Mostly because I’m an old school gamer and I enjoyed shooters like black ops 2 and battlefield. All the cheesy builds and weapons. killed it for me on this games pvp. So I just stick to pve. Only thing left is sweats with their one hit kill builds on. No. thank you lol

The very same mindset that led to you making this post is why Trials is in the state that it's in. What you're experiencing is the end result of the Trials community telling others to get gud for years. The player pool has drained out to the point where you're now on the outside looking in.

Trials is the most infamous and hated playlist in the entire game, and many other competitive communities consider it a laughingstock of a mode and a joke. Give up on it permanently or accept the struggle. That’s the only choices now. No change is going to magically increase population with how infamous it’s been. Just accept that it’s not EVER going to get any better. Take me for example. Never tried trials because of its infamous record. Probably never will. There are thousands of others who have completly stopped playing it, even with new gear. How do you convince them to play after so many terrible experiences beforehand? How do you convince someone with no confidence to give it a shot, or stack up? Maybe the answer is… It’s already too late…

I had fun playing Trials like the first couple of weeks when they started the solo list. I think a lot of players left after getting the new gear and only the git gud squad is playing. It is just almost unplayable at the moment. If i play normal crucible I am mostly in the top 3. In Trials it’s like I am a total noob at the moment while I have gone flawless like 4 times before on the solo playlist where I wasn’t carried. Now it is everybody is an aim god in trials sliding across the map. 2 or 3 tapping everyone while sliding. I think trials becomes what I predicted. A game mode that only a few really good players play because everyone else is sick of it. And after a while all these great players are sick of playing the same sweaty players and cheaters that are still left playing it.

That's the whole conundrum about trials: better players don't want to go only against better players; players under that don't want to go only against better players; but they all want loot. I think bungie has done the best they can with it. Just throw everyone in together and let them go at it. That means if you go in solo, sometimes you will be the shoe kicking butt, sometimes you will be the butt getting kicked. If you want the best chances to get the best loot, get a team, but that also means you will be going against better players most of the time. If they make it like it used to be, the population will go down. The better players will only go against the better players cause that's all that'll be left in there.

19 Replies[u]Prompt: [/u] Why does Trials use FBMM, CBMM, and doesn't use Lobby Balancing? 1) The entire point of Trials is to reward PVP skill. It is the only mode that does this. 2) Since everyone is getting the same rewards, regardless of how difficult the games are, you can't use SBMM. SBMM would result in skilled and unskilled players receiving the same amount / quality of items, which is directly at odds with the purpose of the mode. Therefore, Trials uses CBMM. 3) Trials doesn't use Lobby Balancing for a smart reason to (2). With pure random matchmaking, "good" players will win more on average than "bad" players and will therefore obtain more loot. 4) Trials uses FBMM as a compromise for solos and fireteams. Fireteams don't want any FBMM consideration, and solos only want to play other solos. However, splitting the Trials playerbase leads to issues like low connection quality and longer queue times. [u]Conclusion: [/u] What you fail to understand is that Trials is completely random. What hurts you for "5 games in a row" will eventually help you for 5 more. It is your prowess as an individual player that ensures you go Flawless, not your matchmaking.

Honestly, there should be a K/D Entry for Trials. 1.0 and higher can enter, 9.0 below cant. Ya, i sound like and "entitled elitists" boo and cry some other time BDF. Anyway my point being, for sports like Boxing or MMA, UFC you're ranked on weight. Trials is like Floyed Mayweather's Class, and Survival is like Beginners. Not everybody will get to be in Floyed's Rank, and thats okay. This is bungie trying to be Inclusive in every avenue, and thus is resulting in the Watered Down Trials we have now. IMHO, when trials first came out in Season of the Worthy..Best Trials ever in D2. The Rewards were Rare, and the best ones were at 5 Wins and 7 Wins/ Flawless. But i understand now, its to late for Trials..the True Trials to make a Return.

1 Replylol. Trials would have been deleted a long time ago if they hadn’t opened it up for the casuals to be fodder for some loot. It’s an extra rep weekend, good for farming regular engrams. We 0.5s or whatever don’t give a -blam!- about flawless. If you wanna go for the 7 win, you can still get a team. In any case, there is nothing competitive about trials, it’s predatory, an abusive -blam!--show that should have never existed in modern gaming to begin with.

9 RepliesBiggest load of bullshit I've ever heard. Before the change trials was a dead zone, the change was necessary to even keep trials in the game otherwise it was easier just to toss it out. I always laugh when players cry about not feeling special cause anyone can get the loot. The only players who care about feeling special about loot are the little elitist who wanna feel special, sorry but the rest of us players don't care.

1 ReplyYou're going into Trials solo and yet have the gall to complain about the team you get. In D1 Trials had no matchmaking. If you were solo it was 1v3. And yet nobody complained. It's the Pinnacle endgame pvp activity. I don't participate in it because I'm not stupid enough to think I'm entitled to win the most competitive division of Destiny pvp all by myself.

4 RepliesDo you realise how entitled that sounds? Some of us who are not very good at pvp want to learn and that’s the best way of doing it alongside crucible. I appreciate some other People may carry me, but I will always try my best and get the kills and revive. We don’t want to be divisive.

Why then don't you make your own fireteam? If that's what you are asking for as mandatory requirement you had to get a team with two team mates anyway. Completely eliminating the risk of coincidence who/what skill level you get in your fireteam. Easy-peasy.
