Anti-barrier sidearms; the worst possible option for anti-barrier…
And then you make the season last 180 days, so you’re stuck with it for more than half a year…
And THEN you make the only viable sidearm to use this on, locked behind a paywall.
You know what you’ve done, Bungie… Fix it. Stop creating problems and selling the solutions, we’re sick of it. If you can’t manage because of economic reasons, well maybe your content would be better if you didn’t fire all those people! At this point, just give up Bungie to Sony. They’d do a hell of a much better job than what YOU could do in a thousand years. I’m talking directly to the higher-ups making these decisions. You know what you’re doing. I know what you’re doing. Stop it.

Edited by Verke0: 12/19/2023 2:08:42 PMIts what they always do. Remember when they gave away the eververse set for free? Well, it wasnt really free, because you had to invest your synthweaves into them. Also, the armor itself was the most generic we got since season 2. They could have given us 2000 silver each (the cost of an armor set), but they didnt because no one would have used it on that hot piece of garbage.

Since ARs work really well as anti-barrier and sidearms will stun but have such poor range, it does feel as though they are trolling us. We’re stuck with this. Your best option is to choose weapons with the automatic reloading trait. That way you can stun with the sidearm, switch to your weapon of choice to do damage, switch back to sidearm to stun again, rinse repeat until the champion is down. It’s one of the reasons automatic reloading is so good in boss dps. It was first introduced as “cocoon” in D1 King’s Fall and when you got one for each slot you could wreck the War Priest.

The Void has acknowledged your "request". It will sequentially absorb this request amongst the others in the order they were received. As the Void expands and grows to accommodate these requests, they will be handled accordingly. Have a nice day! Reminder: Please do not stick your head into the Void to ask about your request...you will go deaf.
To whom this may concern: please stop requesting individuals to scream into the Void. See the reminder for details.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The problem isn't really the perk, the problem is the limited avaliable an accessiblity to good side arms compared to assault rifles. Let be real for a second. We have been spoiled by a ton of quality ARs for two whole seasons to list a few. Quicksilver Storm, Ammit, Hardlight, Come to Pass, Old Sterling, Horror Story, Positive Outlook. These are all very accessible and good ARs with the right roles or there catalysts. Quick Silverstorm in particular is just amazing because the grenades get anti barrier essentially giving you access to an anti barrier grenade launcher. After two season of that and going to sidearms it is going to be an adjustment. Thankfully if you want you can play a Radiant build all season and have a ton of weapon freedom on your anti barrier weeks. Heck I used Radient with Dragons breath and was shredding champions. You can even use ARs with radiant you will just need to set up for radiant.

Radiant is the best option this season. But also there is a free exotic that I’ve been using. It can unintentionally destroys barriers without stunning. It’s pretty nice, and I haven’t seen any comments or complaints on it so I hope it stays

3 RepliesNot to refute what you're saying, but Radiant Volatile rounds Unraveling rounds Eriana Wish ender Arbalest Revision zero Then there's CC that can be rapidly applied with the right characters/ builds. You can manage.

Is this what Joey B was mentioning about listening to the community?

Personally I enjoy Sidearms in PvE. I even loved them in Season of Defiance, but I think the real reason for the mod this season was to push their new Special Sidearms that got dropped behind Warlord's Ruin.
-
They just need to buff all legendaries by 20% against red bars and increase their anti-champion effectiveness by the same amount. Since its anti-barrier sidearm hardly anyone is going to use a legendary sidearm because they are just straight up worse than exotic ones in endgame.
-
Dude, radiant.
-
Just use traveler’s chosen. It’s an exotic, but if paying for a dungeon key is out of the question despite spending just as much on something you don’t need in one week is sooo out of the question then it’s your only option.
-
There are exotics with anti barrier. Arbalest, Wishender, Revision Zero, Erianas Vow and Lament. There’s also a plethora of side arms like Buzzard with kinetic tremors that’s brilliant. There’s also really strong exotic sidearms.

We should be able to use any standard weapon of the ideal type. Sidearms are ok but let’s face it. I think most people if they had a choice wouldn’t choose sidearms.

Talking directly to the higher ups made me giggle.
