I want more CBMM in PvP
I’m having the most fun I’ve had in a while swapping to silly loadouts and not worrying about having to run the meta to compete. Would love for this to be permanent!

7 RepliesI think SBMM belongs in every mode except Trials (and modes where skill doesn't matter, like Mayhem). SBMM: 1) More close games and fewer lopsided games 2) Less need to carry teammates or be carried by teammates 3) More fun to run stacked when you get to play other stacked teams 4) Consistent difficulty, regardless of skill CBMM A) Faster queue times B) Less lag, especially for bottom and top players C) Play a wider variety of players / less likely to recognize opponents D) Easier to compare stats between players

5 RepliesCbmm is -blam!-. Sbmm is how it should be. You want to sweat and keep a good k/d that’s on you. You’re going to play the other sweats that want to keep a high kd also. Fair game. You want to chill and use any gun that’s on you risking your k/d to do so which is also fair game. It’s the k/d shits that want cbmm because they want to play lower k/ds to keep it higher. Like k/d matters in a game we’re pvp means nothing and I still don’t understand why they go so hard at it.

Agreed. The fact that Bungie thinks all playlists need SBMM is absurd. It’s fun to grab a pulse from banshee and immediately try it out. But they cater to the “three matches for a pinnacle per week crowd” now. Not people who actually enjoy playing pvp. Even if Bungie stopped supporting it 3 years ago.

At 0.9, you can use silly weapons during any game matchmaking and not mess up your KD. You're gonna be 0.9 either way.

Edited by Rainbine 9545: 5/20/2023 1:10:19 AMpersonally, I'm a LSBMM type of person, as it tries to do both without stomp matches being as common or none existent and having decent connection, as I take the CBMM mindset into LSBMM as honestly, I enjoy messing around and having fun my personally favourite weapons are the beloved, I like snipers, auto rifles and hand cannons but I do mess around with other weapons but I tend to just use what I am good with and enjoy using the most, not cause its good or not, the first time I got an immortal with target locked I used it for a bit then threw it into the vault faster then warlocks using well of radiance and eager edge across the area in the taken king raid, cause I did not need it, want to use it or anything cause I wanted fun, I wont lie my normal in pvp is "hmm, should I pl- stop thinking grapple into that statis wielding warlock who is spamming turrets" and honestly I think that is the most dangerous thing about me, I DO NOT CARE and just go for it

10 RepliesIf you’re too young to remember then let me remind you that Bungie have never, ever, cared about PvP. Watch interviews about developing Halo or Marathon. They make fun PvE games first! PvP in Halo:CE was a last minute afterthought addition. Destiny was not meant to have PvP but Activision forced them too because of CoD and their lack of ability to market anything that isn’t CoD. There is a very blatant reason that only 10-11% of daily players play crucible and that’s because the other 90% of us are actually playing the game and not being part of the problem. This is a looter shooter. You want balanced PvP? Then piss off to CoD.

You want to test out your gun , then go to any planet and test it , not in a GM , raid or any hard pve content. You think people in crucible will also use silly weapons just because you do ? My k/d is even lower , i am sure of it cause i did the mountaintop quest. I had matches where i had more deaths then kills cause i was so focused on getting the triple and double grenade launcher kills and that was all before witherhoard was in the game. And meanwhile i was getting destroyed by mountaintop users , no-one and absolutely no-one was like oh look at that guy using a non-mountaintop grenade launcher , lets use it aswell or just any silly weapon. 🤣🤣🤣

Then youd very much be better using off-meta, silly weapons in SBMM. Otherwise you're setting yourself up to be stomped by those who always run the meta.

If CBMM that you want. That is fine to me as long I am facing players near my area like 100 to 300 miles apart from me. I am good cuz it smooth connection with me and against players that I am facing. If CBMM in general plays as world global. Hell no cuz I am facing heavy lagging players on trials and IB.

Nooooooooooo! Bring back SBMM. I live on a remote private island in the South Pacific and the matchmaking time are atrocious even though I have 1gb up/down speeds. Game is unplayable.
