The Final Shape: Xivu Arath will be the campaign boss and the Witness will be the Raid boss.

What do y'all think? Last mission: The Last Disciple. After losing a character or two and beating Xivu Arath, The Witness does something to the Traveler and drags it into a different dimension where the Raid takes place: Finality It would feel like a step down to fight Xivu Arath in the next saga after the Witness imo.

        • Not sure quite yet. Light fall is supposed to be the end of the light/dark saga I think. Xivu is the last of the 3 siblings we have yet to kill. Currently reading book of sorrows again. She might be tied into it but like the Witness is supposed to play part in the next dlc. The worms that are in pact with the siblings are agents of the darkness. I feel like if the next dlc doesn't have something to do with Xivu it'll be disappointing.

          • I doubt Xivu Arath will be the campaign boss. I think it will be Calus.

            • I want to think Eramis,Xivu, and Calus will be the Raid bosses in Final Shape Raid , while the Witness is thee Final Boss of the LvD Saga.

              • Maybe the Thing in the Traveler is the Final Raid Boss cause the Witness was the good guy all along

nah, witness is more like a story boss, and xivu maibe a raid boss, we can only wait, lightfall the raid is cabal or vex imo, and tbh they can totally save xivu for the dlc after the final shape

                  • I think the Witness is a more viable campaign boss, as the non-raiding player will be able to bring closure to Destiny's story.

                    • Ok. Tell me if I'm off here. If Xivu Arath isn't completely under the Witness's control, I think there is a chance she might try switching sides. Think about it. She sees her sisters get destroyed by guardians and sees the Witness come out of the shadows. Maybe she'll change

Disclaimer: I am a volunteer moderator. I have no inside knowledge of plot points of Destiny 2 and any theories posted here are my own based off public information. My theory is for the Witness relies on the fact Ghosts were never created by the Traveler for any previous civilization. Which makes me wonder: What changed about Earth? Well, for one, the Traveler didn't get to leave before the Collapse happened, whereas all other civilizations it abandoned it left BEFORE their respective societal falls. So my theory for Final Shape is thus: The Ghosts were created by a collective effort of Savathun, Rasputin, and YOU the player. Yes you. Why? Because I think with the way the planets are coming back and are stretched across time that when we finally get to fight the Witness we will be fighting him in both the Future and the Past. The reason the Witness never finished off the Traveler and Earth in the last collapse is not yet mentioned, but Witch Queen seemed to imply Savathun had something to do with why. So I think Final Shape we fight the Witness, both in our current time and in the past during the Collapse, and in the process create a Perfect Paradox of our own story in which we are both the reason Guardians are created in the first place... and simultaneously the final guardian to the fight the Witness in our own timeline.

                        • I like this but I think xivu should survive the battle (throne world or something) then come back for her own dlc as the raid boss. It'll give us more interactions with her since we've had shockingly few unlike savathun who we were interacting with for years unknowingly. This will also give the confrontation in her own dlc more gravity so it won't feel as much of a step down given the "unfinished business" we will then have

                          • I think with the major lack of focus on Xivu for a year now, Bungie are probably planning to keep her around post-light/dark saga. Universe is always gonna need a devil.

                            • They way they talked in the showcase made it seem like the Witness might be the raid boss. They mentioned facing the Witness in Lightfall.
