What are the odds that Cross Save will shut down?

I prefer using Steam but started my characters on Epic Games because it gave the 30th anniversary pack for free, I got Gjallarhorn and others stuff, then when I set up Cross Save to get my characters on Steam their policy said, "Cross Save functionality is provided on an AS-IS basis and may be changed or removed in whole or in part at any time by Bungie or applicable platform providers." It's like when the Apple Store removed Fortnite and it can never be played on iPhones anymore. If I buy the game on Steam and use the characters I made on Epic, if Bungie ever disable cross play I will be screwed and quit the game, and have to either start new characters on Steam or buy the game again on Epic. It's a little complex. Characters on one platform don't merge with another, it's like I'm still logging into Epic when using Steam.

 • Hello, I personally don't see Cross Save shutting down anytime soon, but... Do keep in mind that DLC licenses, such as Beyond Light or Shadowkeep, do not transfer between platform accounts with Cross Save. Players who wish to access DLC on platforms they play on will need to purchase that DLC on that platform. Essentially, what this means is that anything that you have on either platform will cross over. So while your characters are safe and will not be deleted, some items will not be accessible. You can read up on it a bit more in the "DLC Licenses and Cross Save" and "Cross Save Setup Troubleshooting" sections in Bungie's Cross Save Guide.
