Listen, I love a good competitive game. There's nothing like getting ready to try your hardest to kick some rear and pop off with some sick plays.
But I don't want to do that with a game as casual as Destiny 2, unless it's for a specific reason (Trials, Iron Banner).
The reintroduction of SBMM into the control playlist has absolutely destroyed any shred of enjoyment I had in jumping into a game of PvP. Want to try out a fun build? Too bad, "Soul", "D3v0ur" and "Brut4l" will 3 tap you every time you're within hearing distance.
And I understand the "Git Gud" mentality. I think it applies to things like Trials and IB, which should not be catered completely to the noobs of the game. But when you got someone like me who's played this franchise since Dark Below, and doesn't want to step foot in the crucible even to make a video, I believe there's a ginormous issue with how your game matches players together.
Would love to hear your thoughts below, hopefully Bungie will hear us and revert this change ASAP.

4 RepliesI think you should try more than 3 matches under SBMM before forming your opinion.. is that even enough games to be placed/bracketed properly? I don’t know. However, I do know that if I came into someone’s post with a strong take about something I’d only played 3 games in, I’d probably get chewed up by those with more experience. That happens all the time in this forum, right? Eyes up:).

You can still choose, to build into your character, and the powers, abilities and weapons you enjoy and want to use. The new loose sbmm in control isn’t stopping you from doing so.

1 ReplyJust imagine how other players felt when they had to play you. I'm sure they loved getting smacked by Kvostov or Sweet Business or whatever weird weapon you were using. PVP is fun when everyone has a chance to succeed. The only way to guarantee that is with SBMM. You can still try your weird builds out, but now you won't be able to decimate the bottom 10% while doing it.

Good joke

Sorry to say that Bungie isn't backing down this time. SBMM is a very loose MM system, nowhere near as aggressive as other, more competitive games. They already stated when discussing this in their SBMM TWAB that they will be monitoring and tweaking as needed. Best thing you can do is keep playing and give them the data then need. If you want to complain, by all means, feel free to do so. However, you have to remember that a lot of people complained about 6 stacks in the "casual" playlist. They were stomped by people why outside the scope of their ability to compete against. So while you may have to suffer as you may be an average or above average player, the majority of players will see an improvement.

1 ReplyThe amount of whining from people that just want to play against bots is hilarious.

Git gud

1 ReplyNo. It's good. I'm average player and almost dropped to play in PvP because I was matched against 6 pack or people who above my skill level. Now control feels much better.

Wouldn’t SBMM be more friendly for new player since they’ll be getting matches against other new players?

Sbmm is a giant dumpster fire.

2 RepliesIt’s making the mode unplayable.

All u gotta do in sbmm is lose some games in a row and your matches won’t be as sweaty. I don’t get it, u claim u want a relax game but u care about winning? That’s a oxymoron bro

This is what all the nerds cried for and now you have it. Crucible is asscheeks and will remain that way with how dumb these devs are. Enjoy sbmm cause it’s a heap of burning shyt just like the devs
