Black talon ornament from last season looks a bit like a oversized pirate saber. Also, check out the new warlock robe ornament from the season pass...I think you'll be pleased.

Or maybe an exotic flintlock, I know it would have to be slow firing but maybe make it a really powerful special like forerunner -

We usually get some sort of random exotic quest mid season so maybe there could be a sword like the ones Mithrax and Eramis use in the trailer.

Element-Class Special Swords, anyone? Less range, faster movement speed; would be a nice change of pace. Plus, it might benefit melee-base characters.
