Hey bungie! you better read it and reply to this. It’s bad enough that you have to get rid of the all the content for DCV because you guys couldn’t fit it into the games you know some of these games in the past were not cheap like destiny 2 red war, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, Forsaken, and Forsaken expansion pass. Like literally what the hell I hope the DCV is just a temporary until you guys know how to make a game bigger because it’s a shame and a disgrace because rockstar GTA series and red dead redemption series are biggest games and they are able to fit all in. Same thing with Minecraft too they can fit all the games and content into one game. The DCV is the stupidest idea and you guys shouldn’t be a video company if you guys don’t know how to make video games bigger. Also, my other problem is that my destiny 2 isn’t working it keeps saying Server Offline “ The Final pieces are being placed. No Peeking”. What the hell are you kidding me the game was supposed to be released on February 22 2022 I don’t understand why you guys are doing it that mean I can’t play my game until tomorrow. And it was supposed to have more time to bear some of the mission/quest. Also, I have been busy today like for example, going to PHP outpatient program for therapy, group therapy, and psychiatrist and driving around picking up some stuff, and getting my hair cut done. I don’t have much free time like I use to. Please reply this and explain it to me and fix this situation
Thank You,
Tylan Hasten

1 ReplyThe game releases at reset in over 7 hrs. This has been known it releases at reset time. So your unwarranted rant was for nothing.

Edited by Chill: 2/22/2022 9:29:04 AMHey, The Destiny Content Vault (DCV) was introduced for a couple reasons, the big one was being able to efficiently maintain support for Destiny and to prevent it from becoming unmanageably bloated. Due to how computing works and other technical limitations, having a game that is hundred upon hundreds of gigabytes in size leads to many technical problems both with optimizing and bug fixes. The content vault helps to both minimize these issues and to keep a steady flow of content into the game. If you want to know more about the Content Vault then please have a look at this article here. As for the server issues, Destiny needs to have some level of downtime when a lot of new content is being added, this is usually due to both front end and back end maintenance taking place. If the game was online during these events it would be extremely challenging to implement changes due to hundreds of thousands of players all being in different instances at one time. The current downtime it scheduled to conclude in about 7.5 hours. Downtime also gives players a chance to pre-load the game and get some rest before the content drops as there will be a lot to do when Destiny comes back online. While I understand that people cant always be on, due to time zones it is extremely difficult and near nigh impossible to release and expansion that caters to everyone. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask!
