(Thire walks through the new opening) “Let’s see if you’re still talking after I’m finished with you.”

"How scary. You've got me shaking in my boots." Venus said with a loud laugh. As soon as you enter the doorway, it feels as though gravity shifts, and within moments you find yourself in freefall, heading towards a black stone floor.

“Oh God, incoming!” (Thire uses his jump boost to attempt to cushion the blow)

You land squarely in the center of the stone, thankfully having avoided any damage. Within an instant, however, one of the vein monsters was upon you, though it immediately took a few bullets to the back of the head, and collapsed into the ground. “You need to be more careful than that.” Rho said. Looking up, it seems she & her soldiers had regrouped, and made some basic fortifications out of the black stone you’ve been encountering. “These things are relentless.”

“Good to see you’re still in one piece. How was the ride down?”

“Awful, thanks for asking. Those things have been coming at us in waves ever since we got down here. I don’t know how much longer we can hold on by ourselves, so I hope you’re ready to help.”

Rho fastened herself behind one of her makeshift barricades, taking a defensive position with her soldiers. You could head over there and join them, trying to take down the likely-to-be-incoming assault from a defensive position, or you could stay in the open and try for a more offensive approach.

(Thire decides to take a defensive position)

You join Rho & her soldiers at the barricades. Only a few seconds later, three of the same creatures rushed out of the walls. These ones, however, had more defined legs, and were charging at you on all fours. The eyes were still on the backs of their heads.

“Bring it on, freaks!” (Thire throws a flash bang to disorient them)

The creatures continued their charge, unhindered by your flash bang. "They don't use sight!" Rho yelled, as she and her troops began firing. "Don't even bother trying to blind them!" Their bullets seemed to slow their approach, but from this angle they weren't able to strike the eyes, and were unable to take them down. One got close, and leapt for you, over the barricade.

(Thire jumps to the side to avoid the attack) “We got one over the barricade!” (Thire grabs an AR and fires at the eye)

Its arm unnaturally curves out of its path, and grabs hold of you, tackling you to the ground. Though you try to fire at it, the eye its currently out of reach, being opposite to you. Rho was about to try and divert some men to help you out, but almost as though in response to your plight, more of them started crawling out of the walls, and she focused her efforts on keeping any more getting through. "Then take care of it!" She snapped at you. You were underneath it, and began trying to slash at you. First and foremost, you'd probably need to get it off of you, unless you could somehow curve a shot around its head.

“Get off of me!” (Thire grabs it by the shoulders, then kicks it in the stomach to knock it off.)

It falls to the side, but only briefly, as its body twists itself back onto its feet. Cracks formed across its face, and it opened its mouth, firing several small bolts of blue fire towards you.

(Thire leaps to the side and lobs a hydrofluoric grenade)

[spoiler]You’re in the middle of a bunch of soldiers. Are you sure you want to throw the granade?[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Oh yeah… let’s not throw that grenade[/spoiler] (Thire leaps to the side and tries to hit the eye)

You dodge the fire, and make a lunge for the eye, but unfortunately as your arm gets close the mouth clamps down upon it, and the veins begin crawling up your arm like a snake. Within only seconds, your entire arm is engulfed, and you can see a faint glowing coming from within its "stomach". It was likely trying to fire another blast at you, this time while latched on. Its eye was on your shoulder, now, and while you could probably hit it, something tells you doing so would also hurt you.

“Just don’t know when to stop, do you?” (Thire ejects the blade from his arm and jabs it into the beast) [spoiler]Can the thing infect my arm?[/spoiler]

You can feel the blade lodge into something on the inside, but it wasn't enough for the creature to let go, and the light was only getting brighter. You'll need something heavier than that to get it off! [spoiler]I dunno... Can it!? Ominous silence![/spoiler]

“Still not enough? I can fix that!” (Thire pulls out a sawed off shotgun and fires into its face) [spoiler]Oh great, amputation time.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Are you shooting it from the outside with your free hand, or the inside with your other one?[/spoiler]
