I was gonna say “Are you sure? A lightning strike would probably be lethal.”. I looked it up, though, and did you know 90% of people struck by lightning actually survive? And that’s, like, sky lightning, which I doubt Blaze’s lightning is as strong as. Still pretty brutal, though.
You slip out of the way, and fire a bolt of lightning from your fingers. It strikes the man in the shoulders, and quickly passes through his body, causing him to shudder violently, and fall to ground. He seems to be still alive. While you were distracted, one of the other cultists had gotten close, and was swinging his sword in from behind, as the other jumped out from cover and began firing a burst of bullets at you.
-
Blaze tries to roll away from the sword, and tries to bind the one shooting him with shadows.
-
While you manage to avoid the initial blow, and constrain the other cultist, the sword-wielder didn’t let up, and he swings his sword, unleashing a light slash in the air, that travels forwards, and strikes you in the chest. It doesn’t cut too deep, but you feel it burning your skin. He then dives in for a stab to finish the job!
-
“Gah!” Blaze tries to roll to the side, and punch the mans sword hand.
-
You dodge the stab, but as the blade hits the ground where you were standing it sends out a ahockwave, pushing you backwards, leaving you too far to punch. The cultist follows up with two more light slashes, one vertical, one horizontal, both heading your way.
-
Blaze tries to roll to the corner of the two slashes to dodge, and tries to wrap shadows around his arms.
-
You try to avoid the strikes, but the second one grazes your arm, dispelling the shadows there, though your other arm still gets covered in a veil.
-
Blaze grins, and sends shadowy tendrils out from his arm veil to disarm the swordsman.
-
Your shadows wrap around the blade, but any parts that actually touch the sword burn up. The blade is covered in holy magic, it seems your shadows can’t touch it. The cultist takes advantage of the opening, sending a light wave cutting straight down the shadow tendrils.
-
Blaze allows them to be cut, and tries to bind the swordsmans arms.
-
The tendrils close to him have burned away, so you can’t bind him with those. If the light slash continues it’ll hit your arm; are you sure you want to just ignore it? >.>
-
Blaze tries to roll to the side to avoid the slash, along with his attack.
-
The slash continues coursing along the tendrils, burning them away as it passes you. Most of the shadows on your arm were gone, now.
-
Blaze tries to send a shadow wave at the swordsmans feet to knock him over.
-
Your plan works, but from his grounded position he pulls out his rifle, and fires a wide spread of shots.
-
Blaze tries to roll and jump over the shots, before rushing the man and trying to kick his rifle away.
-
You leap over the shots, and get close, but as you do he pulls out his sword, and immediately swings towards you.
-
Blaze tries to hop back, and aims a kick at the mans stomach.
-
I’m trying to imagine this, but outside of a fighting game dive kick, I can’t imagine any way you’re jumping backwards, but still remaining in range for a kick.
-
Blaze hopes back, then throws a shadow fist at the mans stomach after the blade as finished its swing.
-
The fist strikes the man in the stomach, and the blow knocks him to the ground. There’s an opening.
-
Blaze tries to gag and bind his hands and feet together with shadows.
-
Your plan works, and the room seems to be clear for now. Leave them like this, and they’re bound to find a way to escape your shadows; you should probably find a way to get them back to SAYU.
-
Blaze tries to make shadows choke out anyone who’s still conscious.
-
It works, but was also fairly redundant, as they were bound up anyway.
