• The statue's eyes slowly begin to open, and you hear it calling you again. The voice you hear is incomprehensible, and yet you know what it was saying. It was a name. "Venus." Some vines coil down from behind the statue, opening the way to a long tunnel. It was tight, and cramped; barely wide enough for the two of you to walk side by side, and the walls were lined with torches, though instead of fire burning they were lined with glowing balls of water taking a vaguely flame-like shape. "Great. Tight spaces. Hope you aren't claustrophobic." Fukua said.

 • “Only thing I’m scared of is unsolicited social interaction and spiders. This is fine.” Cobalt starts down the path, turning on a flashlight on his rifle.

 •
Little did Cobalt know, his next opponent would be their greatest yet; A giant spider trying to initiate small-talk!
As soon as you were both inside vines crept back up over the entrance, trapping you inside. Despite only being water, the torches did still seem to be glowing, though not nearly as bright as your light. Walking through the tunnels, everything seemed quiet for a while. Then, the vines began to move under your feet. They stopped, but some continued moving down the hall, like some sort of pulsation traveling down a trail. "I'm guessing it's probably either wander around dark halls for eternity, or follow the shifting ground." Fukua said.

 •
Cobalt would sooner pull out his weapons and shoot it, even if it was pleasant. I think that Geo had to strap him down with a weighted blanket to keep him in the room for small talk. And distract him with vague robotic bits that he could tinker with.
“I concur.” Cobalt turns off the flashlight to conserve battery, then follows the pulsating vines.

 • For a while, they don't seem to lead anywhere. You keep wandering through dark, empty hallways for what feels like hours, until the pulsations suddenly stop. Suddenly, the ground opens up from underneath Fukua, and something that vaguely resembles a snake head shoots up from below, ready to swallow her whole.

 • The snake's jaw slams shut, with Fukua still inside. You can hear her angrily shouting, and attacking the walls from inside, so she still seemed to be alive, but that was about the only good news, as the snake slowly rose out of its hole, and pointed its head towards you. Several smaller vines grew out of the hole as well, and began lashing about. You were struck several times, before getting knocked a ways back, and it let out a distorted hissing noise.

 • Cobalt aims his rifle, unleashing a set of shots into the vine-snake’s eye area. (15) He mutters a bit about liabilities and, stuff like that.

 •
Pssh, "liabilities", she's saved your life too, you ungrateful robot man! :p
The bullets crash into the bark of the vines, causing a few small flakes to chip off, but not doing much to actually pierce into it too far. Two of the vines coming out from the base of the hole lunge towards you, spikes first, as the snake itself winds back, seemingly preparing for something big.

 •
I’ll be grateful... maybe. I dunno, Cobalt’ll have to think about it.
Cobalt goes to parry the small vines, (17) then fires more rifle shots at the snake’s base. (18)

 •
Eh, I'm only poking fun at you. I don't actually care. :p
You knock them both out of the way, and the bullets then land cleanly, chipping off the wood. However, it's not enough to stop the snake from charging headfirst towards you. Wide enough to stretch across the entire hallway, you won't be able to slide out of the way.

 • Cobalt goes for the tried and true tactic of ‘throw a ton of grenades at it.’ He launches a set of three frags into the open maw. (16)

 •
Maw is closed; Fukua’s still trapped inside. Did you still want to go for a grenade barrage?
• It charged right into the grenades, causing a large explosion. Still, it wound up bursting through the smoke, continuing to charge towards you. Soon enough, the two of you collided, its massive head knocking you to the ground, and then dragging you along, your back skidding against the thorn covered floor. Still, you could see where the grenades impacted its head. The wood there looked thinker, and you and/or Fukua could probably break through.

 • Due to the angle of you being dragged, they don’t hit directly, instead grazing across the top. Still, they manage to break a small hole in its forehead, an the dim light that was shining through must have been seen by Fukua on the inside, as she blasts her way out. With her standing on top, she notices you being dragged below. “Cobalt!” She yells, shooting out her spectre to pull you up on top of it as well. “You good?” She asked, once you were both on top.

 •
Shots don’t hit? “bUt My BuLlEtS aRe SmArT aNd Go WhErEeVeR!!1”
“Of course, just dandy!” Cobalt continues being dragged, and attempts to dislodge himself by bashing the snake. (17)

 •
I mean, if we really dive in and paint this picture, even a graze is really generous. Snake heads are, like, flat and stuff, and you were being pushed along the floor. Hitting that angle is pretty unrealistic no matter how high a roll you got. :p Also, I was in a rush before, ‘cause work, so I didn’t describe it very well, but you’re already on top of the snake. After you broke Fukua loose she used her spectre to pull you up onto its snout.
•
So you just want to smack it, then? Okie.
You slam your fist into the snake, and it turned out you weren’t quite as dandy as you had said. The damage of being dragged along the ground for so long caught up to you, and you nearly collapse, though Fukua catches you before you fall off the snake, and helps you back to your feet. “Woah! Hey, don’t go passing out on me! C’mon, let’s finish this together! Got any ideas how to take this thing out?”
I’m debating on whether I should start adding big obvious ”TEAM ATTACK OPPORTUNITY!” in bold letters when I want the both of you to launch a big finisher move together. :p
•
Hell, punching things seems to work. I do play Titan...
Cobalt shrugs her off, and looks for the damages on his augments, or armor. “I’m going to shoot this thing. And I think you could shoot at the same time. It could work.”

 • After you push her off, you nearly fall over again, but manage to keep your stance. As it turns out, you’re pretty beat up pretty much all over, from the vine whips, giant claws, burning water, drag wounds from the snake, you’ve got damage everywhere. Though, so does Fukua, if that’s any consolation. “Uh.. That’s the best team attack you’ve got? ‘Shoot it at the same time’? Well, er, okay, if you say so. After you.”

 •
Eh, he’ll be fine. Cobalt’s... resilient? I dunno, he just doesn’t like to show pain like that.
“What, do you have a better idea? I can shoot things, or stab them. Any way you could convo off that?”
