“So, I can’t act in self defense? Because guns aren’t usually non lethal.”
oh. Well in that case.
Geo cloaks and jumps onto the wall, firing from there while constantly repositioning.
-
Unfortunately, the only walls you can grapple onto are also made of vines, meaning your cloak still wasn't doing much. Constantly shifting position, on the other hand, seemed to be throwing them for a loop, letting you get several shots off on all of them. Fukua manages to hold off the one with spike-arms, in a duel, allowing you to focus on the other two. Unfortunately, the tower didn't seem to like your darting around, and after one particular grapple, the walls themselves turned against you, locking you in place, as two of the creatures began climbing the wall to reach you. You only had one hand free.
-
Geo toggles her gun into scythe mode, sticks it into the wall, and fires with one hand, both launching her down and tearing into the vines.
-
The shot causes you jerk a little bit, and the vines get some slight cracks from the force, but it doesn't seem that was enough to completely tear through them. The monsters are within striking distance now, and one of them extends its hand into a thick sword of vines, and seems to be getting ready to chop you in two.
-
“Well, this could be worse.” Geo leaves her gun stuck in the wall a second, before dropping an Arc grenade right on the one trying to slash her. She then grabs her weapon.
-
The arc grenade explodes, knocking it down off the wall. Luckily, being mostly covered in vines, you were shielded from most of the blast, but it still hit you with some heavy damage. The other one crawls up behind you, out of your reach, and seems to be ready to finish you off, but then you hear Fukua yelling from below. "Look out!" She yells, her hair glowing a bright green. Some of it coils around her arm, and turns into a drill, while some of it turns towards a pair of wings. With a flap, she manages to get up to your height, and punched the other one off of you. When she landed back down, the glow in her hair died down, and there were three very angry looking vine monsters closing in on her. "Hey, if you were going to get yourself down at all, now would probably be a good time.." She said.
-
Geo tries to slash the vines off.
-
As it turns out, wielding a scythe when you've only got one hand is pretty difficult. You manage to cut the vines off from one of your legs, but not without getting a small cut yourself. Still, as soon as your leg was free, the other vines let go, letting you fall back towards the ground. You and Fukua were side by side, with the three monsters closing in on you. "Alright, how about working together for this one? I bet we can knock them all out with a single blow if we can pull off an attack together. Got any ideas?"
-
“What? No, I don’t know what you expect me to do except this.” Geo tosses a grenade at the creatures, then grapples one, trying to yank it into the one with a grenade stuck or close to it.
-
The grenade goes off, knocking both of them back. Fukua quickly dives into action, sending out her spectre to kick them back together as your grenade sent them reeling. The ghost hopped back against the edge of the fortress, and jumped towards them, piercing through them both with a hair-drill, before returning to Fukua. "Now that's what I call teamwork right there!" Fukua said, as both of them collapsed, letting their water leak out into the soil. All that left was the last one, but it clearly wasn't going to make it easy. It launched both its arms into the ground, causing several vines to shoot up out of the ground, surrounding you both. They began to whip at you, creating a forest too thick to attack the creature directly.
-
Geo summons two pieces of jagged sheet metal above its arms, letting them fall onto them. This causes her gauntlets to overheat.
-
Unfortunately, several vines simply sprouted up from the ground around the creature, and swatted the metal away before it could reach its arms, all the while the vines around you continued to attack. Fukua sliced back at several of them, cutting them from their tip, but there were far too many for her to handle alone.
-
Geo crouches low and spins her scythe around, slashing at the bottoms of the vines.
-
You slice through several more. The herd thins out a bit, and you see an opening you could possibly slip, though. It would be risky, though, and you've already taken a good amount of damage.
-
I haven’t taken that much. Just a small cut on the leg.
-
The horde of vines has been whipping you this entire time.
-
Geo tries hops off the ground through the opening, before trying to cut the creature in half.
-
You hop through the gap, but wind up in the thick of the vines. They manage to lash you several times, before Fukua's spectre hoped in, and tossed you the rest of the way, before the gap closed, leaving her inside. Once you were out, though, the scythe cleaved through the creature with ease, and it collapsed to the ground, leaving all the vines to die as the water inside of it soaked into the ground. It hurt, though, a lot. Your entire body was aching to the point where you collapse. Fukua--rather beat up herself--moves to your side. "Hey, you okay?" She asks. At that moment, the vines in front of the palace coil inwards towards the ground, making an entrance in.
-
“Just fine. Metal hurts way more.” Geo heads inside.
-
You try to pull yourself up, but quickly fall back to the ground. Clearly, you were either lying, or didn't realize how much damage you took yourself. "Okay, knock that off." Fukua said. "You need to take a second to rest. Let me try to heal you, alright? Where does it hurt?"
-
“I’m fine. If it’s really that bad, I’ll fix it myself.”
-
"How are you planning to fix it yourself when you can barely move as it is? Stop being stubborn, and just accept some help, alright? We're a team, remember?"
-
“No, being stubborn’s my strong suit. That plus the helmet makes my head impossible to crack.” Geo reluctantly let’s Fukua do her thing.
-
"Yeah, and it's going to get you killed." Her hair begins to glow, and she pats it down over any of the wounds she can see. It's not a full heal, and your body is still aching pretty badly after she's done, but at least you could move now.
-
“Thanks dear.” Geo gets up and heads inside.
