Hi there!
There are materials that drop from killing certain enemies and some from killing enemies in a certain way.
I can recommend look up a guide if you don't want to figure it out by yourself.

Look up "destiny 2 dawning 2020 guide" on YouTube for example. It is not that hard to find a guide because the way you earn materials haven't changed in the last years.
