Ive been playing destiny 2 but my interest is really starting to fall off. Im thinking of going back to d1 and completing all the quests that dont require a team. What are your thoughts on destiny 2 so far?
Edit: nice to see so many of you. I have another question for you all to answer. How would you feel if they merged d1 and d2 to make 1 evolving world like they said in d2 shadowkeep vidoc?

20 RepliesD1 is way better than this dumpster fire of a game
-
D1 I was online all the time playing, but D2 I have to keep taking breaks. D2 just doesnt keep my attention like D1 did.
-
Here. Good and bad I love this game.
-
i miss strikes and hunting perfect imago loop i wish they could remaster destiny 1 in some way

All the way back to day 1 D1. Quests are the only thing that keeps me playing. That and catalysts. I used to raid but the clan I was in has gone. The strikes, raids, vendors and crucible maps were all better. If Destiny 1 were still supported that's where I would be now. Yes, rose tinted spectacles but D1 was just the better game. Saying that I am enjoying the quests. Just got Jotunn and toon down a super that should have killed me, have randy's and Lunas Howl. Grinding out thorn and a few others and have about 20 or so catalysts done. I have decided to do the revoker quest so will be learning to snipe for the first time. In D1 I was autorifle all the way but I have grown as a player and now use a lot of hand canons, pulses, submachine guns and quite like side arms now. There is still a lot to do in D2 but like i said D1 was better in the places where it counted most.

1 ReplyI have been playing Destiny since the first demo was released. I think D1 was better, for a number of reasons including better dlcs and music, but D2 has had some good aspects too. Sadly it has now become little more than a bounty grind with very little story.

Edited by Rainey: 1/16/2020 4:29:43 PMNov. 2014. I honestly only log in now because a few members of my old clan still play and I enjoy talking ish with them, but believe if anyone on my friends list was playing D1 I wouldn't hesitate to join in the fun. Got on Saturday and ran around Venus for about an hour collecting Spirit Bloom and enjoying the great artwork that D1 is. Other than the 2 dungeons, Menagerie, the Whisper and Outbreak missions nothing fun has come out of the last years worth of content for me. Honestly it feels more like a second job now.

I think some of the fundamentals that are negative for D2 exist in D1 as well, though not as severely. It's like everything is ramped up in D2, the good and bad stuff. But it is a reflection of where the AAA game industry has gone. All of this timed stuff, battle pass system, microtransactions, grindy nonsense, and dumb "live service" ideas. The good stuff is things like Zero Hour, The Whisper mission, dungeons, raids, and some aspects of the crucible. I'm disappointed by the lack of Destiny 1 support (no 4k or increased resolution) and activity. There should be community events to keep people returning there and having people to play with from time to time. Destiny 2 has been fun at times. But it's really what you want to get from it. As far as a game to complete (with a completionist mindset), its absolute rubbish. If you just want to play everything once and not repeat things it's pretty good. Some content is fun to repeat more times (raids, dungeons, secret missions, crucible, gambit). I guess it still misses the mark in a number of ways. Interesting game though. Definitely unique and awesome feeling of controls, lore, and overall world. Removing content from the game was really the final straw for me. I'm definitely still going to play, but a lot less and in a different way than before. I've never liked MMO's, so it's no surprise the MMO stuff in the game is the stuff I really don't like.

1 ReplyD1 day 1 player here. i played an unhealthy amount in D1. only game that i played for pretty much the entire 3 years. did a bunch of raids. loved it. became a sherpa for Wrath raid. i could run that raid over and over. D2 i played pretty constant for the first year. however, i lost the desire to do raids with D2. they just didn't interest me. i have still yet to even attempt a D2 raid. anyways, after the first year, i started losing interest. and it just keeps getting worse. i take breaks. long enough that i get kicked out of clans. then come back. join a clan again. play for a week or so. then lose interest. not sure if it's just i'm burned out on the franchise as a whole or what. but the game just doesn't pull me in like it used to .

Present. Unfortunately I’ve lost interest in the direction D2 has gone...several times. I currently do not play any form of Destiny. I cherish the many epic moments from Destiny. D2 never had that magic for me.
-
Present! I don't even know how many hours I played, I don't even care. I can't even remember! LOL! How are things? :D

D1 vet here close to the 3000 hour mark I think . And pretty much the same amount in d2 but getting burnt on this game tbh . Still fun to play just not as fun as the seasons go on
-
Day 1 D1 vet here. Destiny has run its course. Forsaken was decent but I quit playing last May - the game has gone downhill.
-
The concept of time gated content was a cool idea to make content last longer, but failed
-
Well my brother got me addicted to destiny back in destiny 1 where I started out from rise of iron on xbox one and three years ago switched to ps4 and upto now really enjoy destiny 2 although I do think destiny 1 raids where much better then destiny 2 raids and more fun.
-
Still going, but basically all clan mates no longer playing.
-
1 ReplyI miss D1 gear and weaponry. I wish more people were playing so i could run raids for fun. Add me psn@iamcopperhead

15 RepliesDay 1, minute 1 player here. Both D1 and D2. I might be unusual among some forum users but I’ve loved every minute of the whole Destiny thing. I’ll play until they turn off the lights. #Forever29 #RandalForPresident #XurSellsGjallarhornWeekOneButIBlowItOff #MyToonIsMuteAfterVenus #DinklebotMailsItIn #RocketsMcDickface

Edited by Lord Kielron: 1/16/2020 3:03:47 AMD1 vet on hiatus due to my console crapping out That and there isn’t really anything worth doing right now. Guess I got to work on those New Years resolutions, huh?

Forsaken was legendary. How they’ve gone back to putting oht completely fucking garbage “content” is beyond me. Stopped playing during Black Armory.
-
I mean its just nostalgia talking but d1 were the good ol days lol I'd just say bring back that game entirely and get rid of the number 2 on destiny 2 and make the series just called destiny, other then that believe it or not destiny 2 is essentially a better game overall, mechanically to say at the very least.
-
I love D1 more than D2...but other games blow more than D2. D2 is far from perfect but still love to play every day
-
D1 vet, stoped playing du=ing Forsaken Just got Shadowkeep. I'm way behind I feel like a Noon again
-
Beta here, nubblets
I kid I kid 🤪
-
Day 1 D1 vet here... The amount of time invested to get all raid gear on all 3 alts keeps me from deleting it. It's relatively irrelevant now though.. but still, running the moon with Fatebringer and dark drinker is so much fun.
