We have to see what they do with it first. Personally, giving your whole team heavy ammo in trade of super energy sounds great in a pve setting. This may or may not break gambit even more... I like that not only are you killing the forces of darkness, but you are doing it in style. If you give it more points in a nightfall then it may be a good way to rack up points instead of just modifying it to be harder.
