Posted this on reddit earlier trying to gather thoughts on the matter. Title speaks for itself, basically. The current climate doesn't allow for a heroic counterattacks against roaming Supers by skilled players like in D1. Fellow PvPers, how do you feel about it? What can you think be done to resolve this?

Agreed. Super meta sucks and it feels absolutely terrible to lose a game to a super chain. The forgiveness of supers is insane. In D1 u had three golden gun shots. Each shot mattered. Now u get 6 and each kills refunds one. Supers in general are waaaay too impactful. They should have the ability to wipe a team, but they should also have counter play.

4 RepliesUse a sniper. Either you get the headshot and kill the super or you body shot and take out a huge bit of health and most of the time they run around to somewhere else. I shut down supers all the time with snipers, I have killed spectral blades with a sniper before but spectral blades but its not an easy thing to do and that's only because it moves too fast and the hunters who run spectrals see the red glint and just start freaking out swiping left and right in order to not get headshot.
I've been on both sides of this (It's not fun for either side lol)
1 ReplySupers are literally “easy win buttons” with little to no risk. I remember in D1 it was a well placed shotty/melee, or a sniper headshot that could take out a person who stupidly used their super. Now it’s just super spam with little to no counter, unless your whole teams firing squad is next to you lmao.

It sucks to be killed by them so easily, but it's also great to get kills with them so easily. If they nerf supers or create more counters, people will just complain about Supers being useless.
-
2 RepliesNot a PvP player myself. But man up and accept that space magic can't just be shot in the face.
-
I miss being able to snipe a full health super with 1 shot to the head.
-
1 ReplyI agree although that said i did solo kill two spectral with a last perdition in 10 seconds as they swish swooshed towards me. Don't know how...
-
Don't we all. I've found myself in numerous situations I could normally weasel myself out of with a bit of slick HC play but anymore...nah.

2 Repliescan we just remove supers from pvp?
-
1 ReplyBut you can counter them, or atleast get them low so a teammate can finish the job. All you need is a shotgun and your melee.

1 ReplyEdited by blade329: 4/9/2019 3:55:21 PMThe only super that is almost impossible to stop, is Spectral Blades. That's only because it moves so darn fast. I can rarely stop it even with another super. I have tried. In D1 it was easier, because you had more options. You had better shotguns, better OHK grenades, and more powerful special weapons. You really had to plan well when you activated your super. One of the many reasons why D1 PvP is far superior to this trash in D2.

1 ReplyEdited by Rainbow_Gravity: 4/9/2019 7:05:14 PMWhat's "Skilled Play"? A grenade launcher?
-
49 RepliesIs shotgun melee really “skilled play”?
-
I felt way more skilled in D1. Maybe it was the unicorn tripmines? Or,..., was it the sticky grenades? My precious Bad Juju? The wonderful sniper rifles? Naw, it was really just one gun. Who am I kidding? Boy, do I miss my Eyasluna!

50 RepliesEdited by Pilcrow: 4/9/2019 3:49:28 AMThe information is a little misleading.. Counterattack roaming supers? You mean, roaming hunters. Titans and warlocks die quickly in their supers. If you are in an area, you and one other player.. If you both attack a titan or a warlock, you'll see, they can die. I die all the time in my stormcaller class. Hell, I actually been shotgunned melee killed by one person while I am shocking the hell out of them. But a hunter, that bitch can be in a room with 5 other players, kill them all, travel across the map and kill the 6th person. It's disgusting. I've had a hunter come at me plenty of times, I hit 2 body shots with a sniper, throw out a grenade, shoot them twice with my lunas and melee them as they kill me, while 2 other players are on the sides near by shooting them and they still don't die. I miss being able to kill hunters in their super. The other two I kill all the time. Edit: after playing some more comp today on my other account. I faced a goldie hunter. Head shot her twice as she came around the corner. Instant death. Feels bad.. Cause that super needs an armor buff lol. A couple matches later I done it to a titan. but the son of a bitch didn't die. I hit him in the head, took him down to 10 health and get got a hammer off, which then gave him full health and overshield to kill the rest of my teammates.. Shit like that isn't fair.

2 RepliesOnly hunters are able to wipe the floor clean while in super. Warlocks and titans can get wrecked by a shotgun melee combo 90% of the time, stormcaller is the easiest roaming super to shut down and nova warp after nerf was even easier to take down. Titans can get wrecked with a bit of mobility and combo but hunters? Nah boy sit down or bend over because nothing can stop them unless they suck

Skillful players my eye you dont need skill for this game you point you shoot and if its a rocket i have on you your day is ruined. I hate people who thingk you need skill for this popcorn party because all you so called skillful players are the ones crying like babies for weapons to be nerfd and you wonder why you need to be revived 10 times during a strike just get on with it because first of all its a shooter people should just be able to pick what ever load out thay feel comfortable with even every slot is filld with an op weapon bungo did make a lot of op weapons for us to enjoy, but now there all for the trash heap so stop crying and get on with it, its only a game and a shooter at that, sorry for the rant but i hate cry babies, maybe you just need to get out more.

Honestly the only fun counter was one shotting a super that would enter the room as I stab him in the back with my khepris sting gauntlets lol

Edited by Bubbs: 4/9/2019 9:30:16 PMNot saying supers shouldn’t be re-tuned (because they really should be), but the R1, R1, R2 combo on Arcstrider is extremely good. The attack one-shots supers (yes, even Spectral Blades). Just look at this vid Cammy made https://youtu.be/hKrrTJez4Jo

4 RepliesEdited by DATALLONE: 4/9/2019 8:14:09 PMSpectral blades is op but they are working on it. But blade barrage is crazy to....i mean it can power through other supers and still get kills. Why doesnt it just get cancelled out too?! (Mainly in reference to how blade barrage destroys nova bomb and goes thru it to kill everything behind) Or how hunters can continually spam blade barrage in mayhem and spectral blade just last forever
-
when I use spectral blades everyone runs away and its game over. Why is that so powerful???? Dont get the hype.
-
It's their counter to the shotgun hand cannon meta they created. Instead of balancing weapon play let's just pump up supers. Not all though. Just 2 so all others are useless.
-
Yeah I miss those times. I still sometimes am able to shotgun kill them or sniper them in the head but honestly I don't like how buffer supers are. I don't like using them much either because I have more fun using guns but crucible now is all about who gets more supers first.
