Opening Braytech schematics is just funny to me now
Daily dose of comedy. I laugh every day when I don’t get the Niflheim Frost. THE LAST item I’ve needed for Wayfarer. For a little over a month. I’ve been grinding this e v e r y d a y.
I’ve tried all the “tricks”. I’ve had all 3 other weapons in my inventory, I’ve had none of them in my inventory. Before and after receiving a schematic. I did Nascent Dawn step 1 on my other characters, etc. It’s the same stuff. I went on a 6 or 7 day Frigid Jackal streak.
I have 40/40 nodes open. That’s probably rarer than having all 4 weapons and it shows my dedication to the grind. Hurts man.
I never complain about anything in this game. But come on.
On a similar note, I’m on 33 LW completions and I don’t have the sparrow yet. I just need that and Petra’s Run for Rivensbane.

1 ReplyGoing through this now. I am opening 4-5 nodes a day, I get one schematic, it’s a duplicate. Apparently keeping all the guns on you doesn’t help either.

I'll admit it's a shitty grind, but it's nowhere near as shitty as Dredgen grind. Yeah both are double tiered RNG(which is some of the most irritating things I've ever seen) but your chances on Braytech schematics is slightly better. One engram a day for 12 days before I got 18 Kelvins.

FINALLY had my last dreaming city lore drop today, bloody hell I’ve played a crazy amount of Blind Well. Which means Chronicler is mine.....in like 4 months

Yeah I made a post about 1000 Voices drop rate yesterday and a post about the Dreaming City cosmetic items the week before. The common thread: RNG in this game is INSANE. Literally I think the fewer items you need from a certain pool, the game increases the odds of that dropping when it should be the opposite or fixed odds. I actually think the algorithm is broken, but Bungie don’t play the game enough to notice.

I've just got my 6th frigid Jackal in a row. It's the only braytech weapon that I have. I read this morning that you get a braytech weapon for finishing nascent dawn 1/5. I jumped on and finished that part of the quest and guess what? .......I got my 7th frigid Jackal. This isn't even rng in play here. It's just bull crap.

I just did ALL my milestones, n every one was a special weapon. My special is 527 n everything else is 500, I've a few 517s, I'm actually done with this -blam!-ery. 4 prime engrams, all badlander at 527. Legit lost all interest in these incompetent twats

It took 90 public events/bounties of stems before my last weapon finally decoded.

When I realized I was close to Wayfarer needing only 18 Kelvins and Osprey I decided to grind it out. I had 380+ stems at that time. Everyday I opened nodes until I got the schematic rinse and repeat. I got 4 autos and 5 snipers by the time I exhausted my stems. Then I grinded out about 40 more stems before finally getting the Kelvins. I’m still at 36/40 nodes, don’t even know how that’s possible. Now waiting for the NF I need to grind the Osprey

As someone who got 40/40 nodes within two months of Warmind’s release and obtained all of the Bray/Arctic weapons without [i]too[/i] much pain, stories like these further prove just how whacked RNG can be in this game. Yes, I did grind them pretty hard during those two months, but what other people have gone through to complete a collection of weapons that aren’t particularly amazing to begin with is pretty telling. There should be some sort of system instituted for sleeper nodes where every time you access a certain node, the probability of it coming up again slightly decreases, to wit: [spoiler]There are forty nodes, which means that if they have an equal chance of being activated, the chance of each doing so is 2.5% After the first activation of a given node, every further activation of the same node should reduce it’s chance in the pool of nodes by 0.1%[/spoiler] That way there is still plenty of room for RNG, but people who really REALLY want it that badly can slowly work their way to better odds. Now, I don’t think that this is a system that needs to be instituted for all or even most equipment drops, but for something like sleeper nodes I think the argument can be made. sleeper nodes, more line ‘sleeper nots’ amiright? / (΄◉◞౪◟◉｀)

You forgetting the real secret. Quit worrying about it and then it will drop. I grind shit daily. Gotten all my non-quest related exotics(never gave two shits about the new ones anyways) Damn near 2 titles but I dont feel like grinding that either. I'm a Completionist but for useful gear and helps me murder mobs or players faster. Like the idea of titles good for demoralizing people. Perhaps I'll will seek these out with other things. If I dont get what I'm looking for it's ok playing for entertainment anyways.

It's pathetic what they do to loyal fans of this franchise just to make you keep grinding for as long as possible. Whoever decided to make the loot distribution this bad can EAD. No way will D3 do as good as it would have now that we've seen the lengths they will go to to give D2 a false perception of depth by holding players back. This game went from amazing to feeling like doing chores. Lack Farmery is the beginning of the end of D2.

After i saw the new triumph system in d2, when the titles came out i immediately gave it a solid “hell no”. RNG has NO place in acquiring a title that is meant to be the sign of an earned achievment

Took me MONTHS to get 18 Kelvins. It’s completely satisfying to get that last weapon for the title, even if the grind makes you wanna blow up all of Mars!

My advice - stop doing it for a good two weeks! Feel free to pick up more stems, but don't combine them!!! Rng seems more favourable if the game thinks you're not interested!!
