Sparrow Racing SRL
I have really been looking forward to it coming back, but it seems as though it's not coming once again.

I’ve said multiple times in the past that I’d rather they work on new and interesting FPS content, but given that the best they could come up with was a bland horde mode, I actually think now I would have preferred them to bring back SRL

Not how it was I don't want it. I want a Mario type racing. No rally marker that get smaller the closer you are to first place. I want power ups, weapons, booster, trap lazers, classic destiny bosses seen in the distance, etc. Not....what srl....was.

Im new player, so no experience of SRL. I would like it to be added, it can be good change for a while. It should come with bounty, Amanda should be the Vendor, and please give it a weapons, gears, sparrows, ships rewards. The gears should be a racing style, weapons should be in fast RoF archetype, sparrow should be an exotic with 170 speed, fast summoning, auto reload perk and has weapon like Pike

6 RepliesTo all of you 'wasted resources' arguers... I bet more people jump into SRL than raid. I don't know for sure, but I think it's a safe bet. Last I checked we were at about 1% had done Last Wish... Does that mean I think developing raids is a waste of resources that could be used for SRL? No. I think making players happy is important, and I understand there are people who love to raid, so I'm fine with them making raids. See why that's a dumb argument? They set a precedent with SRL back in the day; it was successful to some degree with the player base; the players want it back; therefore it's not a waste of development resources.

7 RepliesAgain, SRL sucks. It sucked in D1. It should stay where it is. This game is advertised as a shooter, not some second hand wannabe racer. They should prioritize their efforts into fixing problems.

If they bring it back, remove the catch up mechanic, and implement some sort of shooting capabilities (mario kart style). It's just too easy otherwise. It's insanely boring going round and round the boring maps.

3 RepliesDuring the “community” summit, Bungie asked the attendees if they would like to see SRL return. The people who were there “speaking for the community” said they didn’t want to see SRL back in the game. Unless Bungie states otherwise, they don’t have any plans to bring back SRL because the “community” didn’t want it. Instead, assets went into creating new strikes and the Last Wish raid.

Although Bungie has a lot of things to work on, I'm still up for SRL.

32 RepliesIt's a vocal minority that exists mostly on the forums that actually wants SRL back. It's a waste of resources and not enough people play it that they would waste their time on doing it. I'd be pretty upset if they added a shitty sparrow racing mini game as opposed to a new set of loot, or a new crucible map, or a new strike or two. Or anything else those resources could have gone to to make the game a little more complete.

Let them focus on other stuff. - More strikes - Beter pvp servers - New enemies - New exotics / guns and armor - New sub classes - New planets - New story Etc Etc Etc...

I was a top 1,000 racer before I started letting other people win to complete the objectives/record book. I hated it. The bump mechanics, the completely unrealistic stop for bumping a 3 inch platform on a hovering vehicle, floating in the air and not accelerating even though traction on the ground has nothing to do with vehicle propulsion. It's just not good a physics engine to build a standardized racing game around. If they took out the randomness and just made it every person equally faces the track (no bumping) I'd be fine with it, but getting thrown off the track while the other person didn't even flinch was nonsense.

I'd rather they spend time on making more cool weapons and armour to chase than anymore sparrows or racing. Or adding additional areas to planets and quests. SRL was fun for an hour and then was really dull.
