I've decided to stop playing this game today.
After having played countless hours of crucible I've finally decided I don't need the frustration of this game. I play video games to escape the reality of society being comprised of brainless followers and people out to intentionally ruin any amount of fun you could possibly have. Upon loading up destiny after working a 12 hour day (and waiting 10 minutes for the character select screen to load) I jump into the crucible and start grinding for one of the four weapons in the game worth a hoot (Luna's Howl). I'm greeted with 10 consecutive matches of competitive composed of copied and pasted guardians with nearly IDENTICAL cheesy/spammy meta loadouts. As you all know I'm sure, matches and spending a lot of time in orbit is never fun just to be met with this experience. It all amounts to a massive waste of time and a feeling of being punished for using anything that isn't meta. So needless to say I'm done with this game and it's toxic, teabagging, and secularly minded community. ALSO I know not everyone is like this, just a very large portion of the community, and for those that aren't part of the toxicity and brainlessness, I feel for you and wish you the best in your future grinding endeavors.

8 RepliesI actually stopped playing a few weeks ago and it was the best thing I have ever done in my history of playing video games. You have no clue the feeling of freedom and the relief of stress that comes with breaking free from a years long Destiny addiction.

I'd suggest playing Halo MCC now that you're quitting Destiny. The PvP is a blast in it and it still has a good population.

2 RepliesNot the best time to go for the fabled rank this week. Many players are being carrier now and are even paying the ones that carry them. Kneeled hunters holding telesto or shotguns, warlock novas, etc.....not fun. I have the same issue. Lot of try hards the past 2 weeks. I’ll go for another try next season when hopefully the try hards are doing something else.

I don't what you expect when everyone but the absolutely most hardcore and competitive players abandoned the game and refuse to return. This coming from a guy who put over 1200 hrs into Destiny 1.

3 RepliesI think pvp does have a few things that’s gets a bit annoying like Shotguns, over use of heavy and cheap supers. You ether follow the meta or like me just have fun and use what ever. I’m currently using fighting lion and loving killing them shotgun corner campers. I think it’s all about your mindset, if you’re getting frustrated it’s probably because you’re taking it too seriously. If you’re like me you need to be able to take loosing well, I know I’m average and will loose but I just find a chilled team and have fun.

Humans will always follow the path of least resistance. In PvP video games, that manifests itself as a meta. A meta will always emerge. All you can do is adapt to it.

20 RepliesYeah Luna and Redrix have broken me i think. Grinding Luna and i've done everything except get the fabled rank. I will play ten matches, be top of the leader board for the match most times, but always top on my team and lose 9 games out of 10. i feel like im playing great, but my "RANK" in the ranked playlist is garbage, even though matchmaking puts me against the top 5% of sweaties. None of my friends play PvP. So i literally cant get this gun because the ranked playlist says im terrible but the matchmaking thinks im a god. Solo matched with shit teammates time and time again and thats why i cant have this gun. No Problem, i can just get redrix, right? Well i busted my ass resetting my rank 5 times and just finished the 75 matches step....... only to fine out the last step is timegated over 5 days because even thoush ive done 200 bounties i need to do 20 more and can only do 5 a day (starting tomorrow) and tomorrow is the last day, since Bungie is ending the season a week before the DLC launches because...... reasons? I want to uninstall its so god damn demoralizing.

Great post. I came to this same conclusion over Thanksgiving break. A tremendous amount of wasted time. Hopefully bioware s creating anthem with respect for players time in mind.
