It didn’t need a nerf at all. It was perfectly fine how it was. The damage was fine being better than the other breech loaded grenade launchers. It’s an exotic. It’s supposed to be stronger than them. You guys at Bungie just love making the game less fun don’t you...

It still works well at killing multiple red bars with one shot. My only guess was with the faster reload from the catalyst it would have a higher dps on bosses and majors than Bungie wanted for it. Which is sad. My technique was basically super the boss, fire all power weapon ammo at boss then switch to Fighting Lion. Mostly used in strikes. Raids call for the Ikelos shotgun and the Sleeper or Whisper. For your regular running around & having fun it's FL for me.

I am pretty sure all the developers play the game so I could certainly see one of them playing at home one weekend, getting smoked in a match with it, and then walking into work Monday morning to figure out how to -blam!- it up so that doesn't happen again.

24 RepliesPvP is a cancer on this franchise.

So can you tell me what the damage was pre- and post-update? Do you know if it affected pve, pvp, or both? Yes, it's an Exotic. So why bring damage in line with other single nade launchers? Yes, some Exotics such as Ace and Sturm get bonus damage under certain conditions but their base damage is still the same as every other competitor in their archetype. And the biggest advantage that the Fighting Lion has always had and still has is ammo. It's a single nade launcher dealing the same damage as others but is classified as a Primary. That means you have more uptime of Fighting Lion than any other grenade launcher in its archetype and its dealing the same level of damage and still bonus with direct hits. Name any other Special weapon that has this unique advantage that the Fighting Lion has.

2 RepliesWe might look at this as a glimpse into the mind of the sandbox team that gave you Destiny 2 vanilla. Nerf or nothing.
-
2 RepliesYou ever feel that they are trolling us ?
-
2 RepliesI've taken so many Lion users out with the Play of the game, try that one if your looking for a GL.

9 RepliesI got FL AND its catalyst as a random drop, what are the chances?

4 RepliesEdited by Spyder_Z_Prime: 10/17/2018 2:00:39 PMWhy would you use fighting lion? Not trying to be negative, I got it, I thought I’d try it out again... For the 15th time over its lifespan. Hey, maybe it’s different/better now, right? WRONG. I went to Tangled Shore to see if I could hit some mobs and I kid you not, on at the very least SEVEN different times over ten minutes, the grenade bounced RIGHT BETWEEN THE LEGS of some Hive over the heads of the Hive behind it, exploding harmlessly in the air, taking out nothing! I actually laughed pretty hard at that. But then I just infused it into something... Then I got the new ornament for it in an engram and laughed at the irony. 😂 I either had to be right up on them or I don’t even know. Couldn’t figure it out. Anyway, my point is, just say no to Fighting Lion unless you feel like a laugh. 😉

It's now in the top 5 worst exotics guns ever

5 Replies"It's for the best. We learned a long time ago that doing the same thing over and over again yields different results." -- Bungie

3 RepliesYou said it right there.. The damage was fine for it's category of Grenade Launcher... Because it's an EXOTIC. It should be the most powerful of it's class. Even if it's by 1%. What a joke.. the gun was weak as is and now forget it.

Once again crucible nerf ruins a weapon for pve and shows how crap bungies system is for weapon balance, or lack there of.
-
5 RepliesIt's tied to the event too. I can't figure Bungie out at all. That GL has had it bad. It was a joke initially, buffs were asked for, they made it decent, now it's nerfed? Bad, good, bad? Just rename it Conor McGregor already and get it over with.
-
Wait, did they actually nerf it?
-
Edited by Monaco-03: 10/17/2018 9:50:49 PMMy question is why did they give us Fighting Lion with it's catalyst? They made a crappy exotic, and made it even more crappier. Then they gave us it as a "gift." If I wanted Fighting Lion I would just buy it back from my collection. On top of that they gave us a crappy catalyst. 20+ reload speed? Why not 20+ reload speed and something else? ON top of that, it was under my current energy weapon power level.

Nerfing Fighting Lion would be like buffing the Y1 Gjallie or the vanilla Mythoclast... instead of balancing things, unbalancing them further.

10 Repliesthis company is nerfing themselves out of of customers STOP THE NERFS #HashTagPoundSignStopTheNerfing

1 ReplyEdited by ManBlaster: 10/16/2018 4:53:30 PMExactly. If anything the Green Ammo using launcher need a buff up to the Lion's recent damage. They use a more rare ammo! Instead they destroy the good one and throw it in the bin with the others. Apparently they only want GL's used in the crucible. I was having Fun. I was finally Happy when playing this game with out feeling like everything was less the D1. I Enjoyed where things were. If I was going to change anything I would ask they buff other Breach-load launchers up so I can use a different exotic and mix up my loadout. Instead I now feel like playing something else cause they can't manage to pull their heads out. All my interest in this Fest. of the Lost is numb to the loss of the Lion.

I haven't used the fighting lion since the beginning of the Warmind campaign... so maybe I'm missing something. Why did it need a nerf after finally becoming a little useful?
-
1 ReplyI'm sure you used it all the time
-
3 RepliesLast season you'd see a 4 stack of hunters running graviton lance. That was rough, but you could still fight it. Playing comp against 4 fighting lions in the current meta... Yeah, I understand and support the nerf. Bungie deals in worst case scenarios. If a 4 stack is spamming Lion at you, and they're not even in your line of sight. That's a problem worth fixing.
-
This nerf actually ruined my excitement for today;s update. I still need to get wish ender but they made that weapon garbage too. Not sure how they still can;t figure out how to make exoticss powerful and fun.
-
Because they are Bungie... Nerfing shit is what they ( or rather their Sandbox team ) do.
-
There was absolutely NOTHING wrong or OP about it. So of course, Bungie had to "fix" it.

7 RepliesEdited by GrayWulf25: 10/16/2018 10:38:12 PMYou are right it is a ridiculous nerf no-one was asking for. Outside of a few streamers and PvP God's it was already a difficult weapon to use effectively in PvP for the average player. I try to get good with it as a Titan main, but my K/D goes down even further If it is brought down to the level of other single-load GL's, the remaining perks are not enough for an Exotic
