So it's official, finally hit 600LL on all 3 characters.
So, can we all agree that Bungie deliberately made masterwork cores, and forsaken exotics ultra rare to artificially inflate the grind and gameplay time? They were super quick to address the mod component cheese with the Braytech legendary scout rifle, they were super quick to address the infinite offering to the oracle issue, boom quick hotfix for the weekly reset. But they're waiting an entire month to fix the cores economy and the exotics duplicates? Not that I'm complaining, since I already hit the wall with the expansion, but 🤔 Hmm damn Bungie... The struggle is today, not next month.
Anyway, my Forsaken exotics list (since launch day)
Chaperone (quest related)
Wish Ender (quest related)
Ace of Spades (quest related)
Two Tailed Fox (first week of release)
Then I have a count of over 20 Y1 duplicates 😆. I obviously not gonna continue grinding for exotics.
Thank you bungie, it was a great, fun expansion.

1 ReplyYou got Tailed Fox. The fun shit. And your piss?
-
2 RepliesAny chance of posting your actual profile, or the one that shows those 3 600s?

5 RepliesEdited by Abrrinacave: 10/13/2018 4:39:11 PMThe drop rate is fine, they just need to increase the drop rate on gear you don’t have yet. I would kill a puppy for one eyed mask and/or ursa furiosa bungie. Just throwing that out there.

I've only hit around 550 on 2 characters and I'm bored of the game. It's just lost its fun factor in my opinion.
-
6 RepliesI mean, this was a pretty reasonable post all ways round. You had fun, acknowledged that as such, and presented some criticisms you had in a respectable manner. No idea why some people have gotten so butthurt about this post... 🤔
-
Always been the way In our favour, nerf it over night In their favour, it'll be OK for a month or two
-
Yes. I was going to make a post just like this about the masterwork issue. Oct 30th.. right. By that time people will have RDR2 and Fallout 76 to tinker with. But, so quick to address things people aren't even complaining about. Someone mentions it. Community monkey see monkey do. Bungie fixes in 24 hrs.. like the raid chest before Forsaken.
-
2 RepliesThere are more people who have the raid achievement unlocked than the achievement for ten Forsaken exotics. That says a lot.
-
The scout rifle debacle is my personal sore point. Qik to remove the glitchy emote but over a month to undo scout nerf.. not good.

20 RepliesThis thread will go like this (if it isn't already): 1) People sharing your criticism will upvote and vent themselves 2) Bungie white knights will come out in force and present countless straw man arguments along the lines of "this community wanted more grind, now they're complaining about the grind!" I don't even want to explain how -blam!- 2) actually is, because the people in question wouldn't be able to understand it anyway (I'm surprised they can write though). My point is, there is a thing called differentiation. You can absolutely appreciate or even praise a part of a game, like in this case the actual content of Forsaken, while at the same time being critical of other aspects, like the deliberate system of a negative economy, with the only goal being to deplete players of their resources to, yes indeed, stretch out the game. OP makes a very valid point, Bungie waiting a full month until they slap a masterwork core on 1-2 bounties is by no means a task so complicated that it required weeks of development time. The only reason Bungie waits with this patch is to drain even more resources out of the player economy. And maybe, but just maybe, people calling for more grind weren't necessarily talking about not finding a single Forsaken exotic in 6 weeks play time.

It does seem like those things were done to do what you said. Also, maybe done so when Bungle "fixes" them, people can go and praise them for the changes. I notice a lot of the things Bungle has "fixed" or changed were things they never should have broken/changed so people are cheering a company for returning things to how they were or should have been. I expect once Tuesday hits and if scout rifles are actually quite viable now that people will thank Bungle for the buff, ignoring Bungle nerfed/broke them in the first place. The same will be if/when Bungle reverts the clan xp system back to how it was instead of this idiotic bounty system that is usually 2/3rds pvp related. Same if/when they change the gunsmith turn in to not need 11 button presses. If the exotic dupe system is actually fixed when they roll out the end of month patch then I am sure Bungle will get thanked for it with people ignoring the fact it never should have been like it is right now. Either Bungle purposely wanted people to get dupe after dupe to troll/piss them off or Bungle was too incompetent in their play testing to see the issue. I appreciate stuff Bungle has put into the game like Dreaming City, the collections system (though I think Y2 weapons with some type of static roll should exist there), and the new strikes and other neat content like that but I don't praise them for changing things they gimped in the first place or praise them for making changes to quicker shader deletion when it never should have ben how it was before. As for the current grind system, I'm not a fan of it at all. I thought it'd be great before Forsaken dropped and I did enjoy it at first but finding out about the whole tier system of powerful gear just killed it for me. The reason it killed it for me is Bungle is effectively saying that they want me to do the same work or more work for less reward. Don't know about others but that's not appealing and I imagine NOBODY who says they like that would like it if their boss told them they had to do more work for the same pay or the same work for less pay. I would have much rather had an actual real long grind to work towards without a tiered powerful gear/multi soft cap system (so either making the activities be capped at say +2 or increasing the max cap to a couple hundred from the soft cap) rather than this artificial one that slaps me in the face over the time put in.

The problem is in year 1 people and a lot of the streamers (and we all know Bungie only listen to the streamers) complained incessantly that exotics were far too easy to get. They made a few right choices with the whisper and bow quest lines, but ace of spades and chaperone were going back to the linear quest steps such as Mida, rat king, legend of acrius and sturm. So everything else had to come from engrams (yes apart from the RNG drop of the raid fusion rifle). So to please their buddies they made exotic engrams all but pointless. I didn't want the 13 prospectors I got in y1 I don't want them in year 2 either. Yes it does make the feeling of getting a y2 exotic exciting again, but it's nothing against the constant disappointment of getting an exotic drop only to see Coldheart appear on your screen.

Lucky boi with your two tailed fox I've gotten two armor pieces and 11 old exotics
-
Older exotics really shouldn't have dropped in the first place. Imo exotics shouldn't have dismantled into anything, but have no cost for pulling them from collections. Have the exotics be pulled out at your light level or cost 500 glimmer to infuse. At least when an exotic DID drop, it would be something you didn't have, and it wouldn't start dropping duplicates until you had all the armor (for that class) and weapons that were droppable.
-
I must admit to being cheesed off with getting year 1 Exotics, and even those I’ve only had 3 of. I wanna try different play styles that the new Exotics allow but nope, still have to play the same old ways I’ve always played
-
3 RepliesThis is exactly what I could never understand. It seems like Bungie and a lot of the people who make this community so toxic want you to wait until the end to maximize your gear after you’ve already beat everything and have no real reason to. I would rather play THROUGH the content with great gear and exotics, not wait until there is nothing left to do and get them.

Edited by Kind of Mind: 10/14/2018 11:55:58 AMEvery year it is realized that Destiny has lacking content, imbalanced parts, and intrinsic factors that make a stale game... Thats all that needs to be said BO4 anyone? I hear treyarch is making a comeback....
-
Ace, Wishender, Malfeasance, Trinity Ghoul, Gwisin Vest and Oathkeepers. Others were y1 dupes.
-
sorry for your luck I dropped Gwisin Vest, lord of Wolves, Trinity Ghoul and Two tailed Fox. (ex Ace of Spades & still busy with Chaperone) my characters are in the 560's somewhere. most of mine dropped from the Ascendant challenge and Bounties (spider Bounties)

1 ReplyWow, I’m done grinding now if that is what to look for......Where did you fox drop? just wondering...
-
50 RepliesCommunity: Exotics are too easy to get. Bungie: Ok. Community: WTF Bungo! Why are you artificially increasing playtime?!
