Real. There is an experiment one can run by pointing a powerful laser at a spot in the Sea of Tranquility where the Apollo Astronauts left mirrors. With a good enough laser and receptor, you can prove beyond doubt that there are man made objects on the moon.
Also, something to keep in mind, the Soviets had spies everywhere! If the US faked the moon landings, the Soviets would have learned about it and been more than happy to delegitimize the proudest accomplishment of the US.
Probably real but USA would of had the ability and reason to stage it if they weren't able to beat Russia to space.
I've looked into this and most the arguments for a hoax have a counter argument.
Still tho, it could of been faked.
Real.
ICBM technology appeared in the 1950s. Both nations had the ability to put manned vehicles in Earth orbit in the early 1960s.
So the logistics of sending a manned vehicle to the Moon isn't that much more difficult.
Today we have the ability to send unmanned vehicles anywhere in the Solar system we want with precision.
There was a definitive rocket launch and the capsule was visible upon reentry, the US also did not have the capability to fake the landing in terms of practical effects.
