All Class Abilities Discussion- Part 1

Arc Strider Hunter

9

Sun Breaker Titan

3

Striker Titan

15

We all know the Night Stalker Hunter is the most Over powered sub-class due to its invisibility. HOWEVER, there are other classes that need balancing and tuning that we are going to get to later... So first, we are going to talk about the other 3 most over powered sub-classes in destiny 2 (I am not looking for a nerf, I think these 3 classes may possibly need to be a goal for the other supers to be able to compete with.) (ALSO: the Warlock has the most neutral sub-classes. Though they need work, and we will be dsicussing them, I wouldn't say any of their classes are over powered, though they CAN be excellent. So leave your thoughts as well!)

  • As much as I don't want to be the 'nerf it' guy, I must say that Strikers 1-hit range should use one-- or a rework. That everyone in the applied AoE will instantly die when it's applied, every time it's applied is one of very few things that I would consider overpowered. Solution: change the Smash/Ground-pound into a wider AoE with far less damage the further you are and have the Knee-Slam deal more damage. This would also help define the two attacks. Pound for add clear and general destruction and Knee-Slam for targeted elimination and boss damage.

    • Sun Breaker OP ?? You playing the same game as every one else there ? Only actual competitive titan class is striker cause sun breaker needs alot to go right cause you know the hammer has a travel speed, arc, throwing animation, and you only get 5 throws that you can easily miss 9 if you use the sun spot but sun spot in pvp is a death sentence while void is just there. Voids grenades weakest of the 3 subs and super is a bubble that doesn't really do anything or captain america's shield. Yea so..... Buff sun and void.

    • Let me preface this by saying I main a Warlock and always have. Striker Titan is what I have placed my vote with due to its duel Pulse Grenades with extended duration and roaming super which seems faster than my Dawnblade and Storm caller (Not including ionic blink). Also I get a one throw Nova and it seems like they get a multi Nova except they run with it instead of throwing. Also Wall is more beneficial on the whole than rift.

There's a major issue with the way Bungie has redesigned the HUD in Crucible. They go out of their way to make sure everyone knows who has a Super, what type, and when it's charged. They also cue on screen when the Super goes active rather than just rely on the sound to cue players. This naturally favors the counter punchers, i.e., Shadowshot, Nova Bomb, and Fist of Havoc. They can just wait out your Super and easily bait you around a corner. That's not even factoring in the abilities of teams to easily backpedal and focus fire on any roaming Super. Arcstrider is at a huge disadvantage not being able to activate Super with a melee strike like Striker can. Their animation forces you to activate behind cover then close distance rapidly on players that know that's what you're trying to do. Sunbreaker is probably the strongest Super of those three you listed but has to go all in with Code of the Fire Forged to make Hammer of Sol much more effective. It gives up a lot in the neutral game since the strength of its abilities are based on Solar ability kills. Given how weak melees and grenades are that is much more difficult to activate. Striker is probably the most balanced in terms of its strengths in the neutral game and effectiveness of Super. The only subclass with double nades built in, can instantly counter other Supers, and has the ability to extend Super duration.
