Hello everyone!
I recently made the Exotic Sturm line quests and as I really like these weapons, I use both weapons together.
This combo is really nice because you can refill your Sturm by killing an enemy with your Drang as you can refill your Drang by killing with your Sturm (Infinite ammo incoming!). This thanks to "Accomplice" and "Together Forever" perks.
I then saw that the Sturm had a very good perk (at least on paper...) called :
- Storm and Stress: Kills with Energy weapons grant bonus precision damage until next reload.
But this perk doesn't seem to take effect whatever i'm trying to do.
I first tried to play with Sturm and Drang :
1) I tried to headshot an enemy with the Sturm to see what damages i'm doing
2) Then use Drang and kill an enemy (I tried both precision kill and normal kill)
3) Switch back to Sturm and headshot an enemy again.
Results : exactly same damages...
I then thought : Hey! Maybe that's because the Drang "reload" the Sturm instead of refilling it (as said in perk description).
So I tried doing the same with another energy weapon and I got exactly the same result.
So here is my question :
Does anyone have seen a precision hit bonus damage after killing an enemy with the energy weapon while having the Sturm equipped? Or is it bugged? Is it doing something else instead of what is described in "Storm and Distress" perk?

Edited by Slayride77: 11/10/2017 6:33:56 AMI’ve tested it multiple times in PvE. It works as advertised with the Drang or any other energy weapon. Base tested on Vandals. Sturm Headshot without storm stress was somewhere around the 104(sorry can’t remember exact damage). I killed some other enemy with Uriel’s gift. Headshots were 116 afterwards with the Sturm. Roughly a 10% damage increase? Tested with Drang and same results. The only benefit Drang has over other energy weapons is filling Sturm magazine alongside damage boost. The very little damage boost in crucible turns Sturm from a 3 headshot gun to a 2 headshot one body shot gun. Minimal at best. I’ve changed how I use Sturm (or really any hand cannon) in PVP. Use energy autos as primary, use Hand cannon as the one shot high damage clean up gun after you damage with autos.

I've seen it happen in crucible when I've used Sturm. You have to make sure you kill with Drang AND make sure you don't reload with Sturm. The weapons are supposed to be used together so you don't have to reload, infinitely reloading your energy and primary back and forth. To put it simply: Step 1: kill with Drang Step 2: kill with Sturm and make sure you don't reload Step 3: kill with Drang again Step 4: kill with Sturm without reloading. Rinse and repeat those steps and it should work.
