I've never spent a cent on micro transactions in any game, and never plan to. Buy why is it such a big deal? If you don't like it don't buy it.

As long as a person doesn't get an advantage over me in crucible I'm not worried. The moment the bring In that scenario I'm putting the pad down.

132 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 9/6/2017 7:21:31 PMIt's not a matter if you spent any money or not. It's the fact this company isn't really using the micro transactions for what they said it was intended for. This "if you don't like it don't buy it" is nothing but nonsense and doesn't help you or anyone at all. The fact is, it really doesn't belong in a game like this if it is more then just cosmetics. Other words, Bungie is a liar because they said the micro transactions were only supposed to be cosmetics and not advance gamers... https://gamerant.com/destiny-microtransactions-333/undefined
Even though these microtransactions are merely optional emotes, there are many players that absolutely lament any type of microtransactions in any game that is not free-to-play. Moreover, the Destiny critics that had their opinion changed by The Taken King may revert back to an anti-Destiny stance, as these optional emotes are potentially a slippery slope to microtransactions for weapons, armor, and other items to give players that spend real world cash an edge over the competition. Even though Bungie claims we won’t see this happen, it would be easy money, and it wouldn’t be surprising at all if we saw it happen somewhere down the line
It's bad enough that it's RNG, but now it's pay to advance that is targeting kids and teens. I know you can "earn" by playing the game but the truth about that is, we all know how "generous" Bungie is. To make that last statement clear.... I'm referring to what Bungie offers in-game. Here is another link implying this wasn't going to happen. https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/13672/7_Introducing-Eververse-Trading-Company Edit: Making a post like this is only you telling this company to keep pulling their nonsense, and you are part of the problem instead of being part of the solution. Yeah... will see how much "you don't care" when Trials comes along with that pay to advance. It's actually sad when Gamers don't look at the overall on what is actually taking place and how it's going to get much worse as time moves on. As if Gamers didn't complain about Trials enough as it is lol. Edit:1, you know what makes no sense at all? This company doesn't even have a loot based system that fits having micro transactions in the game. We have something that will allow gamers to advance but we dumb down the entire game. Okay...

I literally could not care less about them. And tons of people are threatening to leave because of them. That's -blam!-ing mind boggling to me.
-
2 RepliesI have just started muting the people that complain about micro-transactions. The forums are so much better without them
-
Micro transactions, I don't mind.. Pay2win? Against that.
-
4 RepliesI originally up voted this thread, but that was before I realised they are selling items that contain weapon mods, which is getting a bit too close to pay to win for me. Also, the whole shadergate thing is a stretch too far, so have changed it to a down vote. .

3 RepliesEdited by Weeksay: 9/8/2017 11:37:01 AMI wouldn't care if i could buy what i wanted. Its snakey that its RNG, because its basically gambling and the house CANT lose
-
I bought 50 dollars worth and I don't give a shit what anyone thinks
-
I didn't even use the free silver they gave us in D1.

1 ReplyOne positive that people who are against it are missing (after all, I always try to find the positive!) is that literally everything available in ever verse is available via playing the game, and there aren't weekly limits to earning the stuff. So there are no, as of yet, eververse exclusives! Stay awesome friends!
-
They only sell rare mods, not legendary ones. Pretty sure the gap is negligible.
-
1 ReplyPeople are over reacting. You get one every single time you level up after 20, and you get them as random rewards too. There's no need to spend money at all. Just another thing to grind for in my opinion.
-
1 ReplyIt's my money that I work for so I will spend it anyway I see fit. What I do with my money doesn't effect you.
-
I don't give a rats аss as long as it doesn't effect the gameplay and I'm not buying them. Still gonna laugh at your stupid аss if I see you doing a dance that set you back ten bucks though.
-
It's not a real game without rngambling micro transactions.
-
Honestly don't care for micro-transaction . Someone having a nice ship or shader or earning something a couple hours before me isn't going to compromise my experience.
-
I too have never spent even a penny on micro transaction in this game or all of the Call of Duty games I've played in the past. I could care less about them.
-
2 RepliesI like micro transactions, just for the salt they create. People foaming at the mouth cause of it lol
-
1 ReplyI'm with you on this. From what I've read and seen in the game, the stuff you can buy with real money can be earned naturally or is merely cosmetic. That sort of thing doesn't bother me one bit and I don't plan to spend any money on it.
-
Same here. Havent spent anything on micro transactions. I have seen no need to do it....yet.
-
If its cosmetic who cares. Its stupid and im not gonna spend money to dress up may character. If you spend money to dress up your character thats on you. If weapons or more importantly BETTER wepons become part of micro transactions ill put down this game for good.
-
I think it's the fact that the shader is a one use only and you can't get it back is what people are pissed about. Personally it doesn't bother me at all, I've loads of shaders and have had plenty of bright engrams so I've no interest in buying any.
-
For those who don't know, what Bungie is doing is exactly what RockStar has been doing with GTA5. The Engrams you buy from Tess, you get one every time you fill up your XP bar. GTA does the same thing with it's in-game currency. You'll get everything, paying for it just means you'll get everything faster.
-
I don't give a -blam!- let them have the pay to win shit they will need it.
-
I don't mind them. I buy them here and there too, if i have some spare money leftover at the end of the week.
-
Earned 6 bright engrams on my first day. If somebody wants to spend huge amounts of cash to try and randomly get the particular mod they want, they're not paying to win, they're paying to lose, like with any gamble.
