September 2017 officially marks the 10th anniversary of Halo 3, which could also mark the release date for Halo 3: Anniversary. Similar to Halo CE which was released in 2001 and was remastered in 2011, 10 years later. Halo 2 was released in 2004 and was remastered in 2014 along with the MCC, 10 years later.
