This is EXACTLY how trials should be played. It really shows what team can control the map better and work as a unit. We made it to seven wins for the first time in year 3 tonight and plan on making it to the lighthouse before it's all said and done. THIS is true 3v3 competitive multiplayer.
And not having to worry about guarding orbs is a fckn blessing.
When you're dead, you're dead.
It's so fun when it comes down to 1vs1 and you don't have to worry about revives and that bullsht over shield.
BUNGIE PLEASE NEVER CHANGE TRIALS BACK!
Edit: 1:10 pm Sunday afternoon we claimed ultimate victory.
fck yes
469 RepliesEdited by Youre Lightwork: 10/31/2016 2:29:40 AMwithout being condescending or trying to rain on your parade ; have you stopped to think maybe why this is the first time you've gotten this far in Trials despite prior attempts..? You're clearly not somebody who's top tier (judging by your own words), yet you're successful this weekend, but not every other weekend...(again, going off your words, not mine) I'm sorry. But it's nowhere close to being because of skill. Catching an opponent that has no clue where you are is quite literally luck...not skill. Having the better shotty & hitting someone from an angle they're not looking at is not skill. Lucky bullets, panic supers, sticky nades, & all other RNG-type kills don't require skill, especially when you add in no revives & no radar on top of that bullshit. That's not skill. it's luck. Seeing your opponent on the radar, & outplaying them anyway, is skill... Flanking an opponent who actually has an idea of where you're coming from is skill. Destiny has WAY too much movement to be played with no radar...the vertical movement alone is enough to argue that radar needs to be on..titans skating right at you with juggernaut, Hunters jumping over your head with Bones. Warlocks floofing over shit... The amazingly little sound distinction in the game...no way. There is a very good reason behind lesser-skilled teams making it big this weekend, a lot for their first times...& it not because of gunskill, callouts, & teamwork. If that was the case, you'd all be participating every weekend...not conveniently on the only weekend with no revives & radar. Wise man once told me, there's no such things as coincidences. I'm glad that you & your squad are having success with these modifiers. I'm glad that you're having fun & enjoying Trials for a weekend...but your reasoning for success is far off friend. I hope you make it to the lighthouse across all characters this weekend. & even more so, I hope that you actually practice & make it there under normal circumstances as well. Edit: I'm not saying there's no skill required. Everything takes skill, every tiny aspect of the crucible has some degree of skill to it. These modifiers just drastically reduce it. Edit: If you enjoy this game mode, I'm not discouraging you. I know that people on these forums are little girls sometimes, but I'm not insulting you. Play it out if you enjoy, run all weekend long...I could care less. I personally don't enjoy it, & feel as if it takes a level playing field away. It adds even more of an RNG factor into the crucible, which shouldn't even be there in the first place. It does not matter how much map awareness you have. I, and many other players, know Cauldron inside and out...that doesn't defend you against a player who happens to turn a corner at a moment you are looking in a different direction. You have extremely good changes every round to catch a player who's not even looking at you. If you feel like you're skilled because you can shoot someone in the back, instead of actually winning a fair gunfight, then that's your thing too. Lol, & that's A-OK. Have fun with it. Because that's what the game is about - FUN. That's why I play, that's solely why I play, because I have. & this weekend isn't fun for me, therefore I'm not playing. Y'all can say I'm bad all you want...& hopefully I'll see you in Trials next weekend, & we can see who's really bad. :) I guess it makes sense that scrubs don't mind...they don't use their movement, vertical space, radar, exotics or tools to their maximum advantage so they can't see why no radar//revives is so detrimental to the game mode. Have yet to see anybody with above average stats stay this takes more skill. Look, if you feel that it takes more skill to sneak up on somebody than straight up outplay them, good for you...I guess. lol Edit: well damn, the salt is FLOWING...good thing it's only for one weekend :) Edit: I'm gonna make this as simple as possible for people who choose to interpret things how they want, instead of what's actually written. Everything in pvp takes skill. Every tiny insignificant thing takes some degree of skill. I am not saying that this version of Trials requires zero skill & teams are getting there off pure luck. -what I'm saying, is that no radar adds a GIANT RNG factor in Trials, & that happening to catch someone who is looking elsewhere is pure luck that you happen to be in that spot at that particular moment ... there's still skill involved. there's just 10x more luck.

I hate the no radar because people camp with shotty, but the no revive should be permanent imo
-
I dig it
-
Enjoying it. Hope Bungie at least rotate. Maybe add a few more game modes. Good to mix things up a bit. I'll definitely play more Trials if they do.
-
I am still mixed on the no radar part, the no revives is fun though
-
1 ReplyEasiest trials ever. It wasn't even fun. -_- If you think I did bad this week go check out my stats on trials report.. #NeverAgain
-
Everything about it but revieves is BS unbalanced spawns, no radar basically eliminates gun skill and the map it self caters towards shotguns this week has been poor ( i have been flawless twice befor anyone complains about this post) i would consider myself an "try hard" and i play around 120 games a week but this week by far has been the most boring week ever the games i have played show a lack of skill on both our team and theres it is just a shotgun rush every single time.. and yes the no revives is a healthy addition to the gamemode however no radar is BS especially the fact that there are very little audio ques in this game, and when a secondary weapon gets 80% of kills in a week you know something is up please fix bungie. This week has showed me that people with very little gun skill can achieve flawless by using the most scummy tactics, its good for them however because of the map and the "modifers" involved the skill gap has been lowered
1.9kd (trials report) i can complain as i please without someone claiming im "bad"
3 RepliesScrubs like yourself don't have to worry about gun skill because you crouch in a corner and shotgun.
-
I agree. This was a very fun trials. I don't know why a lot of people are mad about campers or flanks. You should've known this would happen. Pay attention to your surroundings and you won't die unless you get outplayed.
-
3 RepliesI shouldn't be able to hide in a corner, have someone walk past me, follow them for a bit, and then wave and shoot them in the face
-
1 ReplyI want to see trials with no revives leave radar active and your special weapon slot locked out. All out primary
-
Personally this weekend sucked for trials, while I played skyrim all weekend I did try the new trials just for the emblem and I must say camping in your spawn due to no radar really takes no skill, no wonder so may scrubs went flawless.
-
2 RepliesWas that your first time at lighthouse
-
2 RepliesI agree, it's much more balanced this way and people with the best strategy and communication will always win. The carriers can barely carry, and even the God tier have a tough time winning games.

Edited by Dustoff- -Veteran: 10/31/2016 9:45:23 AMI Totally AGREE!!!!! Petition for permanent no radar or revive !!!
-
That's a nice subjective opinion you have there.
-
Once again, thank you Bungie for This trials!
-
1 ReplyLooking forward to Mayhem Elimination next week!
-
lol it completely negates things like gheleons and fast res...along with things like keen scout being useless... considering it renders a lot of pvp gear obsolete...I doubt they keep it this way
-
This s not trials. This is terrible.
-
I agree, I would love a radar tbh but it's not s big issue, no revives is the way trials should be though IMO!
-
Trials is fun this weekend. With some aids stirred into it.
-
1 ReplyI think this trials is awesome because it gives people who aren't pros, mlg, op's who lives and breathes trials a chance to actually win matches, and if lucky actually go flawless. I would say to Bungie to make this trials once every 3 weeks or something.
-
3 RepliesNot sure which way I prefer yet. But if youre now losing to inferior players due to no radar then youre probably not as good as you thought you were.
-
2 RepliesI agree with you fella its a hell of a lot better this way and shows how people rely on there radar to get kills. The fact u don't have to revive is good too then it just boils down to skill and gun play I guess something that the salty players can't get use to as it shows how weak they actually are.
-
7 RepliesLove it too buddy only the sweaty nerd r bitch1ng about it because it throw them off cuz they have played 5,000 games with that set up so now it levels the playing field because you have to play it different and they can't stand that it's all based on skill and intelligence. Like no how to flank when u don't know where your opponent is but can make an educated guess. Sweaties r too busy talking about their elo to think.
