Good for you. Took away my ShadeStep flip-flop-roly-poly fun, took away my grenades, blink; I even mourn the nerf to Twilight Garrison and I've never used it; fun-factor under serious threat at the moment in Destiny! I think the obsession with 'performance' in a video game with such unpredictable variables, not to mention interference, demonstrates a lack perspective and perhaps intelligence. I've said it before but my KD when I'm trying - say Iron Banner solo - goes something like this 0.3, 1.2, 4.5, 0.9, 3.5, 0.6, 0.5, 1.5, 1.3, 0.9 etc. doesn't say anything at all. It's a bit like all these guys running around at 335 light with Harrowed Raid gear, who are really hopeless at things like PoE or other activities; I don't mind that personally but the high light and high KD don't necessarily equate to considered and effective gameplay. Went into some games with a recently nerfed hunter came away with a middling average KD around 1.0 ish in a couple and there were two guys on each of the two games in question with 4 and 5 KD's. Thing is, they only had 4 and 5 kills during the games! What does that tell you: camping, immobile, clean-ups, good at staying alive...mmm....but really impressive stats! Friends of mine (2) do Trials carries all the way to Lighthouse every weekend and both are amazing PvP players, neither has an overall KD that would garner much 'spec on these pages. They do however know what needs to be done in 3v3 when faced with a specific objective, rest of the week they go in for marks, grind for rep and a sick LDR like mine (!) maybe try and have some of that elusive, dwindling, commodity called f*n...How do you practice those sick jump-snipes and 360 noscs without the inevitable large amounts of deaths and laughter from your team-mates? I would say get a couple of friends you play regularly with and practice (skirmish, salvage, doubles etc.) analyse your gameplay and grow your own team, if you're serious. Otherwise don't lose any sleep over it. 'What can men do against such wreckless lag?'

I always look at K/D when finding players for Trials just because there's a better chance that they're good. Destiny is like a box of chocolates. Plenty of pieces to choose from, some look more decorated, some might have a bite taken out of them. Even if I don't know what any of them taste like without biting first, I'm gonna pick the better looking ones first.

My K/D took a major hit when that Rift IB was on. No one was playing the objective so I was the runner nearly everytime. I rarely got kills but got killed a lot. But I won the matches for my team. So yeah K/D is meaningless.

I don't understand, you say you use horrible guns because they are fun. But if they are horrible, how are you having fun? Like if they are horrible weapons you wouldn't be getting kills to have fun. Don't play with something cause you think it'd be fun, play with weapons that suit your playstyle or you feel comfortable with. I'm no elitist but I hate seeing bad pvp players pick up random guns just to try and "have fun" when in reality and at the end of the match scoreboard, you just got farmed by the enemy team. Seeing only 3 kills but 20+ deaths or anything horribly negative is what makes decent players like myself avoid crucible, unless squad is present.

Me too. I let my kids play, have comps with my friends to see who can die most and often make suicide plays just to see how shit goes down. It's called fun some people forget about it sometimes!

Its nice that you dont care about KD. Most people dont want to care about KD. But if you want to go to the lighthouse, then you need to get people on your team that are good players. Think of KD as their resume or GPA.
