Edit 20 hours: Almost 2000 votes. The reason I'm suggesting it is because that would be 200 million dollars bungie could use to make destiny better. Just saying, most of us know by now the money they lost from bonuses and that they need more money. This would just be extra revenue to improve future games.
Make a movie.
upvote if you agree so more people can see and be polled
No joke! That's it. Video game movies are all the rave right now. The shitty ones like battleship are gone and now they are doing assassins creed and warcraft.
We all remember the hype for destiny. The live action commercials were inspiring.
For the lack of story in the game, you could make a story on film.
1) Fans of the game will love it
2) effing Sci-Fi fans will love it
3) Action fans will love it
4)CGI is much cheaper than it used to be and much better
Undoubtedly one of the most well know (whether infamously or not) games in the last 5 years. Destiny 2 is coming out next year.
NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME TO RELEASE IT.
I just came back from warcraft not knowing anything about it and expecting a bad movie. It was way freaking cool and I know a Destiny movie would be cooler. So do movie companies.
Imagine seeing a fire team going into the vault on the big screen. Maybe a teaser of Eris reporting her teams failed attempts to stop Crota as the captain of the fire team is being debriefed about the vault of glass. Then the second film would be flashbacks of Eris' fire team and then the main fire team of legendary guardians from the first movie going in to take down Crota. Or show the battle of twilight gap. Maybe show some ahamkara or stuff we don't know about yet.
I know pitching it to a good movie company would be easy as well.
the hype is real so take advantage while the timing is good.
This could easily be a multi-movie deal.
Edit: Free game advertisement for your games and dlc and will get new players to join
Edit 2: Let me make it clear that bungie would receive the money from royalties and trademarks and because they own destiny. They wouldn't need to do anything with the movie. Honestly the movie could suck and people would throw money at the (big) screen lol just like bungie always wanted
Edit 3: There is definitely a problem waiting for destiny to release more games and become an established empire before making a movie. One, the destiny games won't benefit from added revenue, advertisement would go completely to the movie company and not to bungie. We'd know the story if we wait, that leave more freedom for script writers to take more freedom and mess up the movies and make them worse. They need to hit it while it's fresh for bungie to benefit and to make it good. Any story aside from game cannon would make the movie bad.

So war craft has done well

2 RepliesI could see it now... You sit down in your seat and the screen reads, "Starring Peter Dinklage". Next to your popcorn is a stack of cards. The first scene seems interesting enough but eventually the movie evolves into repetitive battles of the protagonist continually defending Peter Dinklage against hordes of enemies. 45 minutes into the movie and you still have no idea what the plot is about or the direction it is headed. All you know is Peter Dinklage can't ever seem to finish a task until the last enemy is enhiliated. You then check your ticket stub to see if you're at the correct movie. The stub reads, "please see grimiore cards for additional lore". Suddenly, you realize the cards sitting next to the popcorn are required to comprehend the story. You frustratedly storm out of the theatre only to feel more duped once you realize you've already paid for your movie ticket plus the next two sequels.

1 ReplyI'd want it done entirely CGi animation, or some form of animation so it still sorta feels like a video game. None of that silly half real half cgi crap. Do it all animated and use the same voice actors!
-
1 ReplyAbsolutely not. Destiny's concept is seriously boring and has been done a million times. The darkness is coming, fight it. I remember this premise from years ago,the film The Never Ending Story. Awesome for a child, because the child doesn't care about story or depth, they just love falcor, the flying furry dragon. A destiny film would be the same, fine for kids who don't care about content, just like this community. Stick an Ahamkara in the film, and well it's a stick on blockbuster for all the moronic folk who actually think this a good idea.

4 RepliesVideo game movies don't always go well everyone remembers the Mario movie
-
1 ReplyWhat story are we talking about? Would the movie be some retards fighting the same enemies on loop?
-
1 ReplyA Netflix series would be a better investment.
-
2 RepliesHow can they make a movie when Destiny doesn't have a story anyway?
-
2400 votes!!! thanks

1 ReplyHA that is a terrible idea. What we going to have to buy card packs from their online store to understand the plot?
-
Lol there has yet to be a good video game movie. Also not sure if any of them have actually made a profit.
-
Because video game movies have been so good this far right?!?!
-
Tom Cruise as a Guardian, mostly a Hunter lol
-
Sorry won't happen

Nope, stick to consistent content dropping for the game and you will make WAY more money. The film industry is not the money generating machine it once was and half of the big movies now flop. Beyond that, no one outside of the Destiny community even cares about the Destiny universe. Halo would have WAY more movie potential and despite numerous reports of it happening (at one point Peter Jackson and Spielberg were attached) they have never been able to make it work. Also, most video game movies bomb with critics and financially.

6 RepliesNopers. Bad investment. Just ask Blizzard. Make a Warcraft movie, they said.
-
8 RepliesIf a Destiny movie is a $200,000,000 idea, then a Halo movie is a $999,999,999,999,969,699,723 idea.
-
I'm gonna be honest, haven't ever played WoW but the movie looks terrible.
-
1 ReplyPretty much every video game movie that has been released was terrible. Video game movies are not destined to be great. Here are some examples: Silent Hill: 29% Warcraft: 29% Ratchet and Clank: 16% Angry birds: 43%

2 RepliesYou really want the entire main lore of Destiny to be bunched up into an hour and thirty minutes to two hours? That would be a hot mess, leaving you even more confused and irritated than Destiny's first "story" did. A much better method of delivery would be a series. Hour long episodes, 10 episodes per season, and about 5 seasons. Not an ad-littered tv show either. Streamed through (enter video streaming service here). That way you get a full 1 hour experience with no distractions. In my opinion, that would treat us with a much better story than a Hollywood driven, condensed "video game movie".

Dude. I'd pay actual, literal, hard cash for a movie about the Books of Sorrow. It's the best story told in the lore so far and I'd love to see that shit in moving picture.
-
Can't fūcking believe you seriously think they don't know far more than everything you've mentioned. They probably had plans for a movie being developed like a year ago.
-
I like a destiny style halo legends
-
FFS! If Bungie wants to make money all they have to do is implement a character customization feature (maybe it's part of the new dlc and that's why old gen is being cut off?)
-
If wait till the movie was 9.99 for sale Xbox store then buy it

Not everyone would agree... I dont
