RIPANDTEAR!
so many secrets and little easter eggs already and i'm only on the second level.
this game is what fallout 4 should have been. this is my GOTY candidate.
Every one is so literal. Doom shows an amazing amount of care and pride, an amazing attention to the smallest details.
It is original in a sea of drab, stagnated games.
Fallout 4 in my unpopular opinion feels like a very half-assed boring attempt at remaking Fallout 3 with the parts that made New Vegas great but without understanding what that was and thus getting it wrong.
It should have been a GOTY contender for me but it was just a big letdown. The world is boring. Without TGM, The enemies are random and OP as feck unless you somehow level up, since a shotgun to the face does feckall to even a mosquito. The balance of the base game is shite unless you use a rebalance mod.
The most fun I had was cheating the terrible, useless settlement system with mods and console commands to make giant floating multicolor lightbox dicks in sanctuary and then killing Preston garvey permanently.
From a different dev but the same publisher, imo DOOM has a perfect single player campaign. It is actually a worthy candidate and I thought it was going to be terrible because none of the original 4 deva worked on it. Turns out it is a rebootquel and not a reboot. Awesome story/lore potential and confirmed in the hidden lore collectibles. On normal mode, the game is super balanced, the weapons feel right and the game is true to source material.

2 RepliesMediocre would be an overstatement. I bought it purely out of boredom, played a few hours and now it's just sat waiting to be sold whenever I get the chance. The MP is truly dreadful.

2 RepliesHow the hell should Fallout 4 have been like Doom .... it's an entirely different style of game. Most ridiculous comparison ever. Ever.
-
Great game, but comparing it to Fallout? No
-
Single player, yes. Multiplayer, not so much...
-
1 ReplyExcept all the old Doom games destroyed it.

4 RepliesThis is what Fallout 4 should have been? What an embarrassing sentence, I feel sorry for you
this game is what fallout 4 should have been.
Fallout 4 and doom are completely separate games, if fallout 4 was like doom it wouldn't be a fallout game.
-
I'm probably going to pick it up this summer, considering the first game I played was the original doom.

The single player is absolutely FANTASTIC. The multiplayer is very fast and refreshing, and snap-map is a dream! You can cross download maps! What's not to like?

I love how everything comes together in Doom. The frame rate, speed, music, backstory, setting, even the appalling violence. A very well done game worth the the investment!
