Supers need MAJOR PvE buff

The fact that this golden gun, and other supers like voidwalker, cant one hit enemies is ridiculous its a freakin super bungie. A sleeper shot or sniper shot shouldnt do more than a super. "Stop complaining, use a celestial nighthawk" Am i the only one with any sense? An exotic should not be the only way to make a super relevant. And no im not just some whining hunter, voidwalker needs a buff as well. This games purpose is PvE now stop focusing on PvP so much. I dont want to be forced to use an exotic or different subclass in PvE, i dont think we should need to. Some might even say that fist of havoc and blade dancer could use a buff. Supers in general need some PvE love. #MakeSupersSuper Edit: Its amazing the amount of attention this has gotten. Im seeing the PvE community begin to emerge for the first time since the release of TTK. Make our voices heard guardians! The amount of positive comments and people who agree with this only help the cause. For the PvE experience guardians, dont let this die. I've noticed a swarm of trending PvE topics. Lets do this #MakeSupersSuper Edit: A small victory, Cozmo has alerted the dev's that we wish for more powerful supers! Dont stop now though. Keep this going!

    • Golden Gun and Blade Dancer could definitely use a buff for PVE. The only class that should remain untouched is Ward of Dawn.

It's not about the damage. Even if they buff Nova Bomb to deal more damage.. what does it do that a Rocket Doesn't? Even if they buff Blade-trance to deal more damage, what does it do that a Sword Doesn't? Golden Gun? A high impact Sniper or Sleeper does It's job too. Radiance? Self Rez for cheese, but in most situations you could also just not suck enough to die. We already have fine ways to deal damage just based on the weapons we hold. So why are the Bow and Bubble the only true good Super for PvE? It's because HOW they can change the flow of battle. Bow causes serious debuffs giving battlefield control. The Bubble lets you fight where you normally cannot, while buffing everyone. Both let your already powerful weapons deal more damage. The Supers are going to NEED things to quite simple, give them something more than just an occasional free rocket in your pocket. And I have a couple ideas. Nova Bomb: Gift of False Life. TL;DR A perk, new node or an exotic perk, that ALLOWS NOVA BOMB TO REVIVE PEOPLE. You might think.. Isn't that dumb when we can just hold X to revive? Not always. Sometimes, during Raids, Nightfalls, Certain Crucible modes, or other special missions there's a revive cooldown, or even flat up no reviving allowed at all in Hard raid 'cept Self Rez. This has some tactic bonus to it too. Sometimes it's just too dangerous to revive someone, throw a Nova Bomb on their body and voila, you clear them a small path as well as git their fine tussie back up. An additional side perk can be that Vortex effects (such as the grenade or the super perk), cause guardian Health to regenerate slowly (in a similar rate to which Disintegrate restores it's shields, slow with a short delay before it restarts if the player takes damage). In lore, this can make at least SOME sense, Warlocks take energy via energy drain from their foes. Why not have a perk that allow them to pass that energy to their allies? This abiility turns the Warlock Voidlwaker into a potential Medic, right now the closest we have to that is a Bubble titan running Blessing of Light. Hammer of Sol "Buff": Fire Keeper change. TL;DR, Ranged Blessing of Light. So, right now the Hammer of Sol is the only offensive super that can make a difference in PvE, whether it's stupid high DoT + Hammer damage or Stun Locking most Ultra's with Suncharge. It still see's no true Endgame activity love. So how do we give it some? Hammer of Sol with Fire Keeper can grant itself an Overshield while sitting in a Sunspot... Alright, why not enable this to grant this perk to allies? You become a ranged rescue man. A group of allies gets swarmed? throw them a Sunspot to give them an overshield and help out their DPS against their mods. One guy pulling the bosses aggro? Sunpots. You become both ranged artillery and support for your allies. The supers needs perks and buffs like these to feel useful in PvE endgame. A damage boost would be nice but ultimately our weapons are more than sufficient to honestly get the Job done, what supers need to be are game changes, not be things you can already do just fine.

Apparently we PvE players need to complain more to make our voices heard. I was floored when in the lead-up to the April update they revealed that they were going to adjust subclasses, but then touched ONLY warlocks, and the adjustments were only geared toward PvP (granted, the changes to Voiwalker helped PvE, too, but I think that was just a side effect).

            • Golden Gun is only usable in PvE if you have Celestial Nighthawk. An exotic like that should only improve or enhance it not make it the only way to use it.

I've found lately in PvE going super is just a good way to get killed. The inability to clear adds in a group just leaves you vulnerable, and the animation sequence at startup is like a beacon to be shot. Supers definitely need a buff

                • Until they separate the two areas more, it won't happen anytime soon. I agree with you totally on the supers. The ammo nerf to accommodate PVP really angered me. Bungie says they buffed the drops when in turn Bungie admitted that there is an issue with ammo drops and either don't drop or not as they intended too. I can do simple patrol and not see any ammo drop at all, primary too. Drop a synth, and suddenly ammo starts to drop. Separating PVP (nerfs or buffs) from PVE is what should be on the wishlist.

                  • Let's nerf Supers so they feel like gimmicks instead of a representative of a class at it's full potential... Because, logic. And PVP.

                    • I agree, you make us weaker with your damn nerfs all the time, however you keep the enemies at the same strength or ever higher. You should be balancing that instead of pvp, we all know how you like "balancing" things.

                    • I made a similar post two days ago and got no traction. I'm glad someone managed to get some attention to this issue. I'm going to repost my ideas, since it seems like people are discussing it now. Endgame PvE is dominated by support classes. Offensive supers just do not scale well into those activities. Developers keep saying they want us to feel like we have options. I say, "Prove it." I would also say that these changes should only be implemented in PvE, but even if they were implemented across the board they wouldn't actually change anything in PvP anyway. Golden Gun Golden Gun deals precision damage against all targets. The modifiers for basic mobs, majors, and ultras are x2/x1.5/x1.3 respectively. This has certainly been asked for enough. Interestingly, the basic mob portion of this is already in the game. The numbers are always displayed in white, but head shots show twice the damage value of body shots. Again, though, it only works on basics. Arc Blade Targets struck by Arc Blade receive a Guard Break debuff. This debuff lasts for three seconds and is refreshed by subsequent Arc Blade hits. Targets afflicted by Guard Break receive 50% additional damage from Arc Blade. Nova Bomb In addition to the splash damage from detonation, Nova Bomb deals impact damage when hitting a target directly, much the way that rockets do. Impact damage is set on par with the damage at the center of the detonation such that a target hit directly will take twice the damage of a target standing immediately adjacent. Lance and Angry Magic now actually serve a purpose! Fist of Havoc The base attack power of Fist of Havoc has been reduced by 33%. In addition to its base damage, Fist of Havoc deals damage equal to a percentage of a target's total health. The percentages for basic mobs, majors, and ultras are 50/35/10% respectively. Percent damage falls off from the center of impact in just the same way that base damage does, and damage falloff is adjusted so that the PvP performance of Fist is unaffected by this change.

                        • I hope this stays trending for weeks; months even. It blows my mind that one subclass very specifically has been garbage since long before the time of the Taken King. I'm talking about Bladedancer, here, which has ALWAYS had half the orb generation potential of all other supers (why?), despite being the absolute riskiest to use. By the time of Crota's End, Bladedancer was used only against thralls and for its invisibility perks. When TTK dropped and Nightstalkers had invis, too, Bladedancer fell out of use entirely. And yet, when they trotted out charts showing percentages of subclass use in Crucible to justify the mighty nerf of Sunbreaker, they never bothered to look at what classes are used in PVE?!??!

                        • Bump. It's getting to the point where the game is just not that fun anymore. Guardians are bullet bags with nerf guns. PvE bosses are bullet sponges with auto-load, auto-fire, auto-aim, guardian-melting weapons.

Definitely gunslinger. Probably the saddest super in PvE. I'll see a guy using it, obviously trying to finish a bounty or something, and he kills like 1-2 guys and makes 1 orb. Aw that's cute. I'll just pop my hammers and wipe out this entire room with glorious chaining explosions.

                              • Was doing poe yesterday, just the regular 41 mode, AND SOMETHING HAS CHANGED. Enemies where much harder to kill for some reason, very different from the past two weeks I have dropped in to run a few. Also noticed that supers seemed weeker than ever. I usually run bubble with my Titan but used hammer instead to get the bounty, I COULD BARELY KILL A YELLOW BAR WITH 4 HAMMERS. I think that is ridiculous. Then I tried fist and same thing even some shielded red bars didn't go down. What changed Bungie?

                                • My favorite moment this week from CoE with my clan was when I was one shotting Void shielded Acolytes with my 1000yrd and my buddy had to take 2 Golden Gun shots to bring one of them down. I understand the shield doesn't match.. but it's GOLDEN GUN. It should one shot shielded non-majors. Unreal, offensive supers need a MAJOR buff in PVE. This wouldn't affect PVP at all! Let's say Nova Bomb causes X damage in PVE but already one shots anything in PVP. Without increasing the blast radius at all, just up the damage output because the only effect it will have is to cause more damage in PVE. I don't think the developers have spent any time with balance in PVE since TTK because they just don't care. Pity.
