DeeJ has acknowledged Warlocks are getting hit. 80% of player base are anti-nerf, so wtf?

Check out @DeeJ_BNG's Tweet: https://twitter.com/DeeJ_BNG/status/717041278538629120?s=09 Seriously, every single Warlock nerf poll put up was at least 80% against nerfing. Warlocks are decent in exactly one -blam!-ing game mode and before anyone accuses me of it affecting me, I play a Titan. But it does affect me because my competition gets shit on and it makes winning easier for other classes. When did the point stop being about learning your own weapons and abilities, learning maps, learning strategies and become about lowering the bar to let people through? If this Warlock pass is nerf city, it's a freaking joke. Oh, and Jon Wiesnewski hates fun.

As a year one warlock main that had three locks to grind gear for in year one. Good riddens to firebolts ridiculous burns. And cheap flame shields without kills. Also screw transcendence and the length of their super. I used the broken storm locks for about a day before I decided it was also a cheap kill crutch. Gun skill, limited super use, and nade placement over cheap non engagement kills. This is a first person SHOOTER above everything else. Balance over preference. Good choice bungie!

I see what's the problem here. People whine that Landfall COULD destroy titan's "bubble". In case you didn't notice: "bubble" per se is not a super, it's a barrier, it stops bullets from coming in and/or out. Whoever is in the bubble could receive a shield or a weapon buff. Why no one beeches about this? Is it fair that everyone receives "a small super"? If I start complaining about other team using "weapons of light" what would you say? Should I start posting "oh you have a titan so you don't belong here" messages? Just think about it and feel how ridiculous your arguments about "overpowered stormtrance" are. Before you even start your short essay on "how landfall killed me", think about Golden gun or "Tether" that kills on hit. By the way, shadowstep glitch (when a huntard isn't visible on your radar) is a first thing that should be fixed, in my opinion.

Heres something interesting. They want to affect warlocks future. Aka nerf. Its all they do. Every post that has someone complaining and crying for nerfs to locks has 0 likes. Yet we had a Sunbreaker buff post that had over 80 likes and nothing about them mentioned from Deej. If they dont address Sunbreakers then bungie truly u only cater to the pvp crybabies.

        • Man -blam!- every god damn employee and asshat at bungie that works on destiny. Nothing but nerfs which makes the game worse. Laggy as -blam!-, and barely listens to the community with most of the worse problems are bought up. It makes no god damn sense why they keep nerfing shit. Nothing good has came from it NOTHING. All these useless guns and subclasses is one ever growing problem in this game but nothing is done about it.

        •
Dear the people on the forums bitching about sniping Over the last couple of weeks I have returned to destiny to play trials and iron banner to level up and prepare for the new update and I have observed many reasons why snipers shouldn't be nerfed or tampered with. For sniping: -Sniping takes practice and skill to learn, it rewards a skilled player. -hardscoping snipers are easy to avoid, learn the maps and the lanes and where these pesky Devils usually sit. Use your jump, glide, blink or shadestep to take different angles through that lane to avoid being hit e.g. Jumping up as high as you can go to avoid their scope. -if you are body shot by a sniper, don't challenge that player run too cover and regen your health first -snipers cannot beat shotgunners who use the appropriate cover to advance and take their opponent off guard Against sniping: -guns such as scouts and pulses do not make the sniper scope stutter enough meaning that snipers can still kill their prey while being shit at -snipers can beat fusion rifles at mid range, this translates to BUFF FUSIONS Wild theory's I have heard about snipers from the community: -you can body shot melee shotgunners. Well what in the blam!ng hell, I am a goddam sniper and I may have pulled that off about 3 times in all my games of crucible since destiny day 1. -res sniping is bad. A quick question, do you know how to push your teammate away OR JUST NOT DIE IN THE FIRST DAMN PLACE!!!!
Your all a bunch of cry babies who call NERF if you think you got killed by something unfairly once! Your toxic to this community and the game wouldn't be in this state if you didn't want to NERF everything in the first goddam place

• I'm wondering when bungie is going to nerf their frickin bullet sponge bosses. With all our weapons having been rendered weaker and weaker, just about every aspect of the game is harder, more grindy, and less fun... Ah, it just hit me. I understand now. I had totally forgotten. Jon Weisnewski hates fun. (facepalm)

            • Year 1 i used to always play warlock, and even now these nerfs don't really effect me at all,but i do feel bad for those who use sunsinger. I just never understood why these lazy ass devs could never seperate pve and pvp. They did it once when they buffed shotguns in pve without effectiing pvp. Hopefully tomorrow they don't plan on nerfing scout rifles or else i'm pretty much done with this game. PS. I do agree with the op,fusion rifles need to be nerfed. Fusion rifle lives matter mother -blam!-ers.

I am a regular warlock player, in fact I run a Voidwalker Warlock as my main even in Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris, so I have quite intimate knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of this class and its sub-classes. Overall The first change will be to all warlock sub-classes and that will be to the range of their melee. Warlocks have the longest reach of all the melees making them very powerful up close. I would say that the range of Warlock melees is going to be reduced to bring them in line with the other two classes who have a much shorter melee range. Sunsingers Sunsingers have a very powerful neutral game and the main cause of this comes from four particular perks. Flame Shield, Flamebolt Grenades, Touch of Flame and Viking Funeral. The over shield granted by Flame Shield is where the first change will likely occur. I will say that this will be changed so that it becomes available on a kill as opposed to a hit. This may or may not be accompanied by an increase to the damage it can adsorb or the length of time it will be available for but regardless it is a very powerful ability in PvE but more so in PvP as it often means that melee fights against other classes become one sided. This change would bring it in line with the Defender Titan ability Disintegrate which requires a kill to activate. The next change they will make is to length of time Viking Funeral burns enemies for so that an enemy, be it Minion of the Darkness or Guardian, will take less damage than they once did. The number of times I have been killed by the combination of Touch of Flame and Viking Funeral when running a max armour set-up it ridiculous even if I have survived the initial hit from the grenade itself. The final change I believe will be a reduction to the length of time a Sunsingers super is available for, especially after the use of Fireborn. The ability to revive your warlock and secure that revenge kill is a powerful one, but when you get the same amount of time after reviving yourself as when you use it normally seems unfair to a lot of folk. This will also make the perk Radiance a more viable option as opposed to Viking Funeral with which it shares a column. Stormcallers Stormcallers is where a significant hit will occur, mainly to their super. I would say that either the amount of time their super is going to be active for or the damage the super does will do will be reduced. Transfusion will still likely increase the length of time it is available for but not to what it does now where it is possible to get 4-6 kills on a regular basis whilst every other super, maybe excepting Hammer of Sol, struggles to get that. Voidwalkers It is my opinion that Voidwalkers will not get hit quite as much as the other two classes, if at all as this class seems to be in a good place right now in terms of balance. If anything I would say that some of its perks could do with a buff. JvK B)

              • Deej's comment about Warlocks surviving design passes with Titans as the primary comparison does sound a little scary, especially with how Sunbreakers were modified. BUT, Strikers and Defenders got brought up to spec so it wasn't a nerf across the board. My guess for Warlock tuning is going to be melee range. That seems to be the main point of contention among players, especially when describing Stormcallers. Granted, those melee attacks should have a bit of distance to them but like with shotguns in the past, they are definitely a bit too long reaching. Reducing melee range and maybe some damage, this really shouldn't alter the playing field too much when the primary way of playing is with your own guns. Basically, just take this in stride dude.

Good thing I don't main my warlock, the only thing I really do on it are the weekly's and sometimes pvp if I'm bored of my other 2 characters. Edit: I am bad with a warlock in pvp, that might be why.

                • now here is my view and it will probably be a bit of a contraversial one, warlocks should not only be left alone (in PVP) but should be buffed (in PVE) and so should everything else (in both) because lets be honest supers are pvp abilities because they are so weak in pve, the only useful ones are the support ones, even though supers should be capable of dealing more damage than everything else in our arsenal put together they are pathetic seriously think about it when was the last time you've seen someone save a super to take on a boss because it can deal a lot of damage? probably never because all offensive supers at the moment are only useful on trash mobs like thrall and dregs and even then will have trouble if they're majors and in PVP the thing at the top always gets nerfed whihc solves nothing because then the second best takes the top spot without getting buffed and then that gets nerfed which then puts second best in top spot and so on so forth (and those of you with longer than 5 seconds of memory will know this is exactly what is happening now since stormcaller is only "OP" becasue sunbreaker isn't anymore), so how about for once we try to break the cycle of degradation and buff everything else to be equally powerful instead of nerfing everything to being equally shit

Make me really feel like you don't play as a warlock. The most balance.
Titans endured the last design pass
so warlocks have to get it because you -blam!-ed up the titans hammer and hunters? but -blam!-ing titans hammer got hit -blam!-ing hard. So you're saying warlock are going to get it too because 20% can't gg?
We'll survive ours. Or are you afraid?
deej.....exhale you are not a -blam!-ing comedian. All of your jokes fall flat why keep joking at the wrong time? We talked about this, will you ever -blam!-ing learn? On top of -blam!-ing that you guys over do nerfs, you don't know where a sweet spot is. If you buff hammer, that will be how many months too late? and when you have to buff warlocks again after this next nerf it's going to take way to long to buff again. We will see tomorrow, I just know strike three is conning for destiny and I'll be done for good, and to you hunters and ggses yes I'm pissed you and bungie have -blam!- this game up. One of the once best games and worse I've ever played.

                  • I'm a titan. The so called nerfs that I have had to deal with since year 1 have been a pain. Warlocks haven't exactly been nerfed but buffed (or left alone, same thing really.) This being said I use to believe the warlocks should have been nerfed 9 months ago. Now after reading up on updates and forum ranting I've decided to go with my original stance from year 1. Quit nerfing and buffing all characters classes and weapons. Wait. Let me rephrase. BUNGIE! YOU CREATED THIS GAME. STICK BY YOUR PRODUCT. Giving in to all the whining and crying about OP weapons and supers shows me that you (BUNGIE) lack a spine. Grow a set. Restore all characters classes and weapons to there original state and let us destroy the cry babies. I want to force them into submission. I want to make them run to CoD or division or whatever other Shitty game they want to run to because they don't deserve to play destiny
