They claim to have come to us with breaking news about the future of the game. Too bad they only gave it to us because activision forced their hand. Everything in today's weekly update was pretty much a direct quote from the activision earnings call this morning. They aren't listening to us. They aren't giving us answers because we asked for them. All bungie is doing is trying to cover their asses after activision dropped more about the future of this game in five minutes than bungie has in 5 months.
EDIT: Here is a link to Activision's slide presentation from the quarterly earnings report. Page 9 Details what they have planned for this cycle for their major IP's.

EDIT 2: We're trending. Lets keep the community informed of the way Bungie truly treats us.
EDIT 3: 150+ comments. Let's make sure bungie sees this and knows that we aren't blind to what has been going on.
EDIT 4: Now Bungie is going to give us a free 320 ghost shell one day after they tell us that the light level is going to be raised. Even though the ghost shell is going to be irrelevant in a short period of time people are still praising Bungie. Does that make sense to anybody else?

You say it as if this was new. We probably wouldn't have shit anyway if they're game wasn't dying

7 Repliesi dont -blam!-ing care that a for profit company made money. say it with me: "I can put down the controller if i dont like this game anymore"

Thank the fuqing lord that someone here isn't a junkie who threw all reservations and caution to the wind because they were told a fix is on the way.
-
2 RepliesBungie is still a good company. They've given us Halo: CE all the way through Halo Reach, and Destiny. Destiny is a new type of animal for them, so be patient.

4 RepliesActivision says game content will be released beginning of 2017 while bungie is saying it's gonna be released in 2016 I hate bungie and will trust activision over. Bungie 10/10 because they have people like deej and cozmo who and supposed to be community people when all they do is give community focuses on people who no one gives a fùck about, FYI DEEJ AND COZMO stop with community focuses and start giving us content cause with this update in destiny 2 where you can't bring your characters from this destiny into destiny 2, I will not purchase destiny 2 because that just means all of year 1 and year 2 of destiny was basically a "PAID BETA" and we were just your ventriloquist dolls to test things with our money, go fück yourself bungie no one believes in your shit you say anymore, too many empty promises Where's my option to change appearance for my characters for 10,000 glimmer per week? Been waiting since last February
-
1 ReplyBungie's "roadmap" is no doubt drawn in handfuls of crap by a severely mentally handicapped chimp.
-
So, who wants to bet that this large expansion later this year is actually just year 1 content finally being brought over to year 2? and you will have to pay $30 for it.

Edited by GrundleBeans: 2/12/2016 8:44:53 AM
They claim to have come to us with breaking news about the future of the game.
No they didn't. They came with a regular update that mentioned things they've already hinted at weeks ago... if you weren't paying attention.
Too bad they only gave it to us because activision forced their hand.
And you know this... how? Sure they probably communicated with each other to announce it in tandem and they've waited until now because if you weren't aware, this is quarterly business report time, but that doesn't at all mean Activision forced them to do anything. All they did was make "official" what they had already mentioned before with the only addition being that Destiny 2 would be released in 2017, which you'd already know if you guys listened to the story from Kotaku (which now that it's mentioned was completely accurate).
-
They need to give us a taste of whats coming. They are just trying to hold us here while they try to figure out what they are going to do.
-
1 Reply$100 dollars says Activision told them not to talk about it until they were ready to inform it to their investors.
-
The 'forcing their hand' is an interpretation ( a very negative one at that), this could also be coördinated and timed (which is far more likely in my eyes) to release in the same period of time... Anyway, I still enjoy Destiny and I'm glad we are getting more then a few events, we are getting a new DLC.

Edited by Pocket Fox: 2/12/2016 8:10:12 AMAll Bungie can say at this point regarding PvE are brief, vague statements. Because they have nothing. If they had something to show they'd show it. If they had something to say they'd say it. But they're not even close to having anything. Not even close to being close. So they say nothing.

1 ReplyWhat does it matter. All i wanted was to know what was actually happening with destiny. All i'd heard was that it was basically dead now, except for these tiny events that happen every couple of months, till Destiny 2 comes out next year. Finally hearing that there will be another expansion later this year plus a decent size update before hand, and added confirmation the next game is planned for next year, is great news i think. I never expected another expansion before Destiny 2. I'm a bit more positive about destiny's future now!

3 Repliesone last $49.99 DLC expansion pack that will be left behind as soon as the game hits a new year inbound.
-
Nice, the link was useful reading.
-
Did you consider that what little information is available was actually embargoed until that call had taken place? Personally I'm not bothered, I don't see why I need to know every little detail months in advance, I have got better things to do with my time than obsess over destiny 24/7
-
Edited by P3SH_OFF: 2/12/2016 7:50:39 AMall this and you're still gonna carry on playing. until enough people stop playing, this game will trot onwards carefree
-
7 RepliesIt's funny how you think Activision forced their hand. It's not like they signed a contract that legally forbids them to announce future content that is worth money before Activision announces it first.
-
Edited by loonigus: 2/12/2016 7:25:03 AMWell ... Indeed we knew about something "big" DLC related commin later this year, but now we know that a free LIGHT upgrade with an event is comming this spring. Seriously lets wait and chill in The Division untill it releases. My guess is early april.
-
2 RepliesThere was more reliable information in those fews lines than in anything Bungie has ever fed us.
-
Bump.
-
Activision demands is what it should be called haha
-
3 RepliesEh...activision went on a buying spree with king games and mlg stuff. That's where the gains are. Regarding destiny... Large new expansion in 2016 with full game sequel expected to launch in 2017 . Wonder what 'large' is.... 3 inches? 5 inches? Just want to invest in astroglide before it drops....
-
4 RepliesHow's you get your hands on this report?
