Bungies "Roadmap" lol
They claim to have come to us with breaking news about the future of the game. Too bad they only gave it to us because activision forced their hand. Everything in today's weekly update was pretty much a direct quote from the activision earnings call this morning. They aren't listening to us. They aren't giving us answers because we asked for them. All bungie is doing is trying to cover their asses after activision dropped more about the future of this game in five minutes than bungie has in 5 months.

EDIT 2: We're trending. Lets keep the community informed of the way Bungie truly treats us.
EDIT 3: 150+ comments. Let's make sure bungie sees this and knows that we aren't blind to what has been going on.
EDIT 4: Now Bungie is going to give us a free 320 ghost shell one day after they tell us that the light level is going to be raised. Even though the ghost shell is going to be irrelevant in a short period of time people are still praising Bungie. Does that make sense to anybody else?

It is more likely that Bungie could not give us any of this info until after the activation earning call. This week at Bungie posted mins after that call. As much as you believe Bungie is just screwing with us. They are held to things we don't have any knowledge of and Redit doesn't tell us is coming.

If Bungie had said anything prior to the release of this information from this meeting, I'm betting they could have been sued for violating some legal agreement. Maybe not, but that seems more reasonable to me.

Or, of course, they did actually tell us most of this a couple months ago and everybody just kinda decided to forget. Either way, nice job trying to drum up some fake outrage. Idk man. I for one am excited. I enjoy the game for what it is now and even though I get frustrated every once in a while I truly enjoy destiny. I think that people need to learn that not everything is going to be perfect and mistakes are made quite often, even in the professional world. I'm glad to see the Bungie is learning from their mistakes! The future of destiny looks bright and even though destiny two is setback a few months, that just means the sequel will be even better!

The scene in Bungie HQ. DeeJ sits at his desk. The weekly update is complete. His hand hovers over the mouse, the cursor on "Submit". He is listening to the Activision Earnings Call. "Don't do it...... Don't you do it you mothers.....", he mumbles as the call moves onto Destiny. "And so to Destiny. blah blah blah numbers.... blah blah blah player engagement....", bleats an Activision exec. "Don't you fking say it.", pleads DeeJ. "You know we're miles behind. We don't even have Pete's nameplate on the office door yet." "Massive expansion for 2016 and new Destiny in 2017!", shouts Activision man. "Let it rain!" <there is a chorus of investor approval and the opposite of that "disturbance in the force" bit from Star Wars from the playerbase> "Godammit!", DeeJ frantically cuts and pastes the bulletpoints from the presentation slides into This Week at Bungie and hits submit. Striding out of his cubicle, he grabs his jacket, ripping off the Dead Orbit bond and throwing it in the trash as he heads for the nearest bar. "Hey DeeJ, Crimson Doubles later?", asks a Bungie dev as DeeJ sprints for the exit. "Get back to work codemonkey - you have two games to ship in the next year - or haven't you heard?", DeeJ snarls, already mentally composing the world's biggest management of expectations for the next Week at Bungie post.

It's not like they have NDAs and a bunch of business bullshit that gets in the way of that stuff. Don't get your panties in a bunch over something you just don't have the full story over. I'm all for transparency, but if they are withholding information they don't do it in spite of the players. You people just want to be offended. In the end, we don't know. Should we know? That isn't for me to decide. That's up to some guy who has a degree with "marketing" in its name.

10 RepliesToo little, too late. I already kicked the daily Destiny habit. I'm still willing to give it a shot, but I'm a little worried. The "significant light level increase" sounds BAD, actually. Yes, I could smell it in the air starting with SRL when they started shoving out 300+ stuff outside raids. There was only one way that could end and this is it. But what does that really tell us? Well, first of all there has to be some new content that requires higher light level. I've no idea whether that is going to be something genuinely new or just a "hard mode" variant of something old. Then they have to give us a way to achieve that level. [b]At best[/b] it means the loot tables and Cryptarch are updated to drop higher stuff, meaning hours upon hours of grind to upgrade your old stuff to usable levels. At worst it means all your old stuff is now unusable and you have to re-acquire everything. I just got my gear sorted out the way I like to use it, and now I have to go and get it all over again??? I know planned obsolescence is part of this game model, but still, what does this [b]really [/b]tell us? [u]I tells they've run out of ideas. [/u] Same stuff with higher light is the easy way out when you don't have anything actually new to add. Did they promise new exotics? No. Did they promise new weapon types? No. Did they promise new gameplay elements like vehicles? No. Did they promise new map areas? No. Did they promise new quests? No. Did they promise anything that requires actual innovation? No. All they said was effectively: "Ok guys, you can go to light 350 now." (Not the exact number but you get the point) Ok, maybe all the really good stuff is being saved for Destiny 2. Maybe substantial changes require ditching support for last gen platforms. I can understand that. But if they want me to keep playing Destiny daily for a whole year (or more) until that comes out, this is not the ticket. It's not like I couldn't get back in when it does come out. They'd be doing a financial suicide if they locked people out. There's going to be another spark of light waiting at the Postmaster when D2 rolls out.

This week at Bungie we come to the realization of a few things. They can say about anything or mostly nothing and the desticle group will hail it a victory. We have also learned that they should purchase a GPS as they clearly can't find their ass with a roadmap.

Significant light level increase---> 230 not significant My guess is the "new" content will mostly just be making old content relevant again. A couple strikes and hopefully fixing the god awful nightfall rewards (I mean a 283 craptastik pulse rifle and a mote of light for soloing it)
