Just looking to get the opinions of those who want the stormcaller nerfed, then add my personal counterargument. IMO I think it to be balanced

I main a warlock and stormtrance is my least favorite class. (Voidwalker) our movement speed is even slower. Titans and hunters can stunt it down instantly. The only time it bothers me is when I'm spawned in right next to one. Lol

9 RepliesHere's my argument, read it all and respond intelligently, ask for clarification of I'm unclear. 1. Titans were nerfed to the point of brokenness. 2. Bungie has only had one impactful buff ever, to pulses. My point is that their track record of fixing over nerfed things is very poor. Therefore I have no hope they'll fix a class now that it's completely broken. 3. Stormcaller was balanced. Though like we've seen before, because other things were nerfed, storm caller is now over powered. Not because it was inherently, but because other classes now suck hardcore. 4. Bungie seems to only want supers to kill 3 people at maximum when utilized by skilled guardians at very very opportunistic moments. This is not the case with storm caller. Three kills are basically the minimum, unless very unlucky and on only a few maps.

If you're a sniper right now, Stormcaller's melee and super are one of the few things that can rip through your TLW/1KS or MIDA/1KS load out...and make you play a real price for having a big gaping hole in your range coverage. I was grinding my teeth in anger listening to Patrick Casey whine like a girl who didn't get the Pony Santa promised about how OP Storm callers and Sunsinger Firebolt grenades were. Apparently never taking to time to realize that a Sunsinger has to give up a lot of other powers (including the ability to carry a second grenade) in order to spec into that Touch of Flame/Viking Funeral combo..... ...and if you nerf the grenade, you'd basically destroy what use the class still has in PvE play. I practically threw my controller at the TV when he stupidly said, "Oh the only reason anyone plays Sunsinger is for self-rez!" No...you idiot. The only reason anyone plays Sunsinger in a RAID (or when a wipe kicked you to orbit in the NF) and hold onto their supers is because of self-rez and because the penalty for Dying is so ridiculously high in end-game PvE. But Sunsinger is still a very powerful support/DPS class. Especially for any team that isn't running with a Nightstalker Hunter. 2. Because bad players always wine about what the good players whine about. Since they have to find something to blame for their dying. The Stormcaller is balanced. Its melee is longer than other classes SPECIFICALLY to offset the fact that Warlocks have the least armor and the least agility of the classes. The super is longer because it is the only super that is BOTH only effective at close range, AND takes time to kill. Stormcallers have no damage resistance or heal-upon-kill abiltiies....and no movement agumentation except Ionic Blink....which is balanced by the fact that it each time you use it, it takes away a sizeable chunk of your super time. Nerf Stomcallers, and you'd render their super useless. Because all you'd need to do to effectively counter it as a team is either focus fire down the Warlock (which can easily do right now anyway) or simply run. Run away, confident in the knowledge that the Warlock will only have time to get one kill if he has to run down other players to get into range. Stormcallers can't OHK from halfway across the map like Sunbreakers can with HoS.

4 RepliesI swear, can we bring up some of the old post about stormcallers being underpowered back when the TAKEN KING was a week old! People were saying it sucks, the movement speed is slow and you are easily killed! Its the same today but now people just want to point fingers to why they die in PvP....

2 RepliesHonestly the only thing I could possibly see being a problem with it would be it's duration. Aside from that it's fine. If you are out of their range you can pick them off before they even reach you as they can't do **** till they get closer. I've picked off many via headshots while they helplessly tried to float after me.

2 RepliesYou move twice as fast, have four times the range and stream constant damage that continues after you've stopped. Not to mention you can blind everyone within a mile. So on and so fourth. And your melee is op af too. It should be a contact melee, just like a titan or hunter. There shouldn't be "damage dropoff" it should be, get within a foot to hit, not 5 feet to kill.

3 RepliesIt's not OP at all, it's that hammers were more prominent before the nerf. Hammers used to be hard to counter, now they are quite easy. Stormtrance just happens to be the hardest to counter now. Be honest, when was the last time someone popped storm and you killed him with a shotgun/sniper? It's pretty difficult.

Maybe if they made the subclass as a whole stronger but nerfed the super a tad it would be okay, that way you have a something like gunslinger which has a solid subclass and a solid super but isnt op

There's nothing more exciting than shutting down a storm trance or escaping and killing the warlock as it ends or any super for that matter. Supers are not guns and should be "super". You wouldn't hear a peep from these jokers if their favorite weapon or super was identical in action... not one word.

No need for nerfs. Just unwind the nerfs to bladedancers and sunbreakers then let guardians figure it out!

Why should warlocks be able to Melee kill someone from 20 feet away, and Titans and hunters have to actually make contact with their melee's to cause damage??? It's freakin stupid!
