Defenders!!
I have a question for all of my bubble bro's out there, if you could only choose between Helm of Saint-14 and Ruin Wings, which would you choose and why? Personally I wish we could wear both.
Edit: Please explain why you chose what you chose, I really can't decide! I'm primarily talking about PVE but PVP recommendations are also welcome.

1 ReplyHelm all the way. Highly recommend it. As a defender you play a certain way which keeps you near your bubble. And knowing it has your back helps you kick ass. One of the best exotics in the game still to date! In my opinion.

1 ReplyIf the content gets hard enough, I'll use the Helm. It was almost mandatory in high level PoE. But for literally everything else in PvE, Ruin Wings. Imo they are highly underrated. Think about how often you actually need a bubble. Like, to save your life. Then think how often do you really need a blinding bubble. The answer is honestly, not often at all. Helm of Saint is very very good in very specific circumstances. Otherwise it is honestly unneeded. Ruin Wings on the other hand are useful 100% of the time. More heavy ammo is [i]always[/i] amazing. It's amazing during tough, high level content. It's amazing when stomping some low level strikes or patrols. It's just amazing. Once you fill your heavy reserves with 2 boxes you'll find it hard to take them off.

Also on bosses generally a bubble is weapons maybe blessing but nothing is running in there, again more heavy = better. I'm assuming these people are voting pvp because that's the only reason I think Saint 14 is more practical.

1 ReplyFor year 1 with mobs of thrall, saint 14 was king for sure. This year, it doesn't ever seem to be an issue and I prwfer ruin wings so I cam just main my raid machine gun

1 ReplyWhen the enemy enters the bubble the blinding animation takes precedence. If they start a sword attack before they enter though you better back the -blam!- up. It makes your bubble the safest place to be. Grab a shotgun and choose whichever bubble upgrade you want. Safe place becomes a killing floor.

It's a lot funnier using your sword as a primary. Nothing like punching your enemies to death or slicing them up. Saint 14 doesn't really work that well for me because when I'm solo I want them to stay in my bubble not leave it.

2 RepliesEdited by gspgoose: 12/8/2015 6:19:51 AMSaint 14. Blinding bubble has saved sooooo many lives in pvp and pve. Bubble Smash is also good. Blinding bubble stops exploding enemies. Blinding armor of light bubble means you can beat down unopposed...I mean they can try but shotty and knuckle sandwiches are a good diet for death. Also useful for rez in occupied territory.

1 ReplyEither. But I'd lean towards helm. I use all 3 subclasses so I go ruin wings for the extra heavy drops.

1 ReplyIt depends on what you're doing. For most scenarios, ruin wings. For a specific time where you know that enemies will be in your ward and you can't fend them off/area denial, then use the helm of saint. I don't use it in casual play, I use it as part of a strategy.
