Dear bungie,
I'm sure many will agree when I say this decision paired with your decision to lock most content until the completion of the raid makes the release date for the expansion pretty much worthless!
Original^
Update-
Okay for clarification, most people seem to agree that in the update they mean completion of the story will open up end game content. Fine I'll go along with that, but they are vague, so that's not 100% guaranteed.
Secondly, VoG coming out a week after launch is not a valid argument, back then it took 27 levels and getting lucky with gear to get in. That's not an issue anymore, there's plenty of ways to get ready.
Third, by me saying "day one" I do not mean I am going to go thru it day one, but when I am.ready and geared I want the option, giving us the "it will be hot on the heels of launch" does not mean it will be a week Luke most think, again it's vague it could be a month for all we know. Normal mode should be an option at launch, with Hard mode being "Hot on the heels"
Fourth, now this is a personal statement you can skip and hate monger below idc. For me I am not going to have the time to invest like most will anymore. I love this game and never really complain about the changes or lack of this or that. I find things to do, I play more than most and don't get bored. But I now work 7 days a week, and just started college today. So my time is very limited. I wanted to be able to enjoy it 5o it'd fullest that first week, I used my last 2 vacation days to play, and they just dropped this on us 2 weeks prior to it coming out. So now I am stuck with those days. Now my experience will
Be diminished by everyone knowing how to do everything. I wanted to be able to take a day and explore it with my friends and won't b3 able to have that chunk of time to do so like so many others.
So sorry for the skepticism, and the uproar caused. But for me this decision has me pissed off.
Now you can insert you "Stfu" comments like you already are

5 RepliesFirst off even if you reach level 40 on day one( which btw goes by xp so who knows how long it will actually take) you still need to reach the required light level of 280 or whatever it's going to be. Our current armor and weapons are only light level 168 bungie is rounding it up to 170 for taken king. So yeah I don't think anyone will reach level 40 and aquire all new fully leveled armor and weapons on day one so quit bitching. They are giving us time to prepare and get ready to be able to do the raid.

Wine wine wine bitch bitch bitch complain complain complain
(sigh)
2 Repliesyou have to #1 finish the story chapters and reach level 40 and #2 have the appropriate light level in gear to even be able to attempt the raid, not to mention the right weapons. doubt very seriously you would be able to do that in just 2 days...unless you dont sleep, eat, use the bathroom or shower for those first 48 hours.
-
So since the raid is going to be level 40, and you need to level up to get into it, you sound mad because you can't do it right off the bat.
-
Shut up nerd
-
No raid has been released day one.
-
Yeah do the raid with no year two weapons and level 34
-
Another day, another idiotic post.
-
Don't worry. Let bungie drop everything they're doing just to make sure your satisfied

It's only one week dude. Normally, I'd agree that it's best to release as much content at one time as possible, but keep in mind that raid racing is a Destiny tradition, and Bungie wants to give us all an even playing field so that we can be level 40 when King's Fall comes out. The only reason why Crota's End was released on Dark Below day 1 was because all of the hard core Destiny players were already level 30, meaning that there was already an even playing field at a high enough level for that raid. We'll have lots of content in the mean time, like the Court of Oryx.
-
So you want to complete everything on day one?
-
7 RepliesYou still need to get your gear strong enough to go in. You might be level 40, but if you only have 100 Light you'll be destroyed. Or you'll be locked out of the content due to low Light. Either way, the time is for people to amass gear and levels in order to do the content. Also, some people will be brand new and need the time. Not everyone is a year 1 vet going into TTK.
-
You may become 40 but your light will be awful
-
All of this sounds like your problem. Might wanna pickup a different hobby.
-
You're not as complainy and stupid as the others talking about the issue. No "stfu" from me. But they're doing it for a reason, and sorry you can't play as much as you want. Both in time and content
-
It'll be a week wait at least and I'm okay with that.
-
You people are never happy....
-
Ohh big deal. Not like it's the only thing they added.
-
Does anyone else not get what the big deal is? People are acting like they'll need to wait until October!
-
10 RepliesOp wants to get to 40 and complete raid day one so he can complain about lack of dlc content.
-
1 ReplyNobody will be geared enough day one to even enter the Raid anyway.
-
1 ReplyEveryone that posts a thread like this one should be banned from forums.
-
Your entire thread is worthless. Good job!
-
3 RepliesOk. Imagine a race. Now imagine everyone starting at different points. Doesn't seem fair huh?
-
For your second note, you didn't have to get lucky to get to 29, it just took some strikes and crucible to buy the pieces of gear you needed. Honestly, this is no different.
