Dames Sexist?

Several months ago I met a few dames. They label themselves as female gamers, or girl gamers. They seem to fight for a safe environment for females to game in. Yet label themselves with a term that is what people attack. Some females I have met in my travels of the internet are quite anti men. Which is something I have never understood. Women seem to think they have a tough time in this current date. Girls get hate online? Of course... Do guys not get hate? The difference is "some" hate is allegedly aimed toward their gender. How lucky is that? They get hate toward their gender... I really wish people would dislike me for that. So easily ignorable because it makes no sense...

I'm a girl and a gamer. I don't want to be labelled as a "girl gamer", I'm simply a gamer and that's it

        • You've never seen a girl in a COD lobby have you? She gets swamped. She gets insulted, harassed, abused, told she's useless if she makes a mistake, told she's cheating if she does well, told she should just be at the beck and call of a man not playing games. The only part of that I've seen done to a male is the useless or cheating bits. And they're rarer for men. I've even seen people give death threats for not getting the girl's social media. So I'm not surprised that they decided to make an all female clan. It is for safety and they have a right to be naturally inclined towards males as men use the anonymity of the Internet to abuse and hurt them the same way homophobia and racism is done on the Internet. Just leave them be. They don't attack you.

You know what really grinds my gears? The fact that these women claim to be so "discriminated against" when they are: 1. Praised by men online like so many of these white knights do 2. Are praised in real life and the man is supposed to "take care of her" 3. Create a sexist clan that discludes the entire other gender 4. Want to be superior to men with their 3rd wave feminism 5. Have a majority of the world's population 6. Are not required by law to sign up for a draft which will get them inevitably killed for a cause they might not believe in. 7. First world women with fancy cars and goto starbucks to get on tumblr to complain, when women in 3rd world countries are actually oppressed. I cannot stand this group. I can understand discrimination causing them to make a clan against it, but the discrimination against men caused this uproar. It was silenced by deej in the community focus, but the resentment is still there and grows with each day. Something must be done. All the dames should do to set this straight is to allow men, as the dads of destiny allow people other than dads.

                • When I was about 7 years old, I forget what happened but I loudly proclaimed to my grandfather that "I hate my sister so much"... He rarely spoke, but immediately turned to me and said "Hate is a strong word, you shouldn't use it"... My grandfather was a Jew that fought at Normandy during WWII... I don't use that word to this day.

                  • Disclaimer: I post this in every thread I see about the whole thing, so this is never intentionally aimed at anyone. I just like to put myself out there and hopefully people will weigh in with some insightful, interesting, and civil conversation. This entire incident has served one good purpose for me. It's served as an example of sociological issues that result from an us vs them mentality. I feel that everyone should learn not to see each other as black, White, Asian, Hispanic, male, female, etc but rather as humans. It's also quite interesting for me to see the double standards being perpetuated in the name of equality. Do I feel that what was said on the stream was good in any way, no. I didn't find it funny, entertaining, or for the benefit of anyone. However, it has brought many of the "other" side out, screaming accusations of bigotry, sexism, and racism, but not at those who it would be worth talking to. I feel that the sphere of what is "politically incorrect" has expanded far beyond what should be acceptable, while simultaneously maintaining many blind spots. Everyone can be prejudiced and so you cannot say that putting someone down for being white or male isn't it's own form of racism or sexism. I will end with the fact that I see many saying you cannot create a clan of all males as that is perpetuating a sexist society, but not an all female clan, which is empowering and just. I can expand more on any of this, but I wish to be concise and not waste my time of nobody will read this.

                      • I hate to be this guy, but here it goes. There is a huge problem with stereotyping in modern society. Most of the world is emerging from a way of life where men were considered superior, even not if it was a conscious thought. It was just the way of life. In the U.S., we're emerging from a culture that labeled white males as the leaders and workers of the nation, while the women were largely considered to have the honorable job of being a mother. In the present we are almost fully away from that philosophy. But bits and pieces still lie around. This is stereotyping. There are even physical bits. Ever heard of the stereotype that black people live in "slums"(I am in no way saying it's true)? That's because most of them used to, and and some still do. This is because we used to force them there. Real estate agents back in the early 20th century were extremely likely to sell the good homes to white people instead of blacks. If you look, you can find many more of these things still laying around in society's brickwork. Women being paid less. Blacks more likely to be arrested than whites. Heck, even the whole white population being deemed racist, which in and of itself, is racist. Point is, things are left over from all that. But as people realize them, they'll move away from it.

Yup I'm sure that whenever you make a mistake you're told to get in the kitchen "where you belong" or to "get your boyfriend to do it." I wasn't going to respond to your very obvious troll but the thing is, there's are kids that read this stuff. Impressionable youth that are making their first opinions. I'd hate for their opinions to be as skewed and ignorant.

                        • Sexist would be the wrong term here because as far as I know the group doesn't say females are superior to males or vice versa. Discriminatory and segregation would be more appropriate and indisputable.

                            • Guys get their orientation questioned all the time. Is it fair? No. Do we care? Nope. Does it ever stop? Most likely not. So why should they be treated differently? They want equality don't they? Real gamers, male or female, can take trashtalking like its nothing. That's the difference between those "Dames" and female gamers.

Not saying Dames are that way but still. I dont want the hate I just want to play the friggin game and play it with some chicks who are cool and want to play too. Jeez.
