It isn't a bannable offense by any means. I've never used it, nor do I intend to (I don't use Hunter in Crucible much and when I do I use blade dancer), but it's just combining perks for maximum effect like many other combos (most notably similar is Bad Juju/Obsidian Mind, albeit on a smaller scale). If that maximum effect is above what Bungie intended due to an issue on their part, that isn't the player's problem.

The thing you dont seam to get is the effect wording and the actual effect are different. The wording stats that you need a "Kill" with a grenade to gain super energy but the actual effect is just by causing "Damage" with your grenade no kill required gains you that super energy. Therefor its a glitch or exploit. If the wording and the effect were the same then no problem.

That's still an issue on Bungie's part, not the one using it "hacking the game" or some such crap. I agree it's a crappy thing to do, but seeing people call the ones using it hackers and demanding the banhammer swings seems over the top. In the end, it's what, one or maybe two weeks of Trials affected? With this much attention being drawn to it, Bungie will likely patch it in the next hotfix.

Edited by Trestero: 6/14/2015 4:56:08 AMThey gave out some temp trials bans for the back out exploit. They're gonna take action here if I had to guess. There's a difference between a hack and an exploit but both are bannable. This is an exploit; the players using it are fully aware of an unintended error in the game's code and instead of simply reporting it to Bungie and moving on they're knowingly using it for their personal benefit, in a way that can potentially ruin the other team's experience for unfair or unbalanced reasons. How'd you feel if you went 8-0 after working hard and then a constant Golden Gun took that away? That's not Bungie screwing you; all responsibility shifts to the other players when they decide to use Bungie's mistake as a tool. You can totally be banned for that.

Bungie isn't going to ban anyone for this, not even the ones that used it in trials. They'll fix it and move on, but definitely won't ban.
